Really great review! These single TIR lens flashlights are truly a different animal. The fact that the Nitecore held up the longest, makes it the winner of these three.
I didn't understand this. What does "ramping down" mean? Maybe the battery is quickly depleted? Or there's a heat management issue? Or ... ? I'd like to find a more beginner-friendly review of these lights.
@@mikeblaszczak5346 it means that the amount of light decreases, it may happen because it's heating or because the battery is dying. In this case it's the heat
@@mikeblaszczak5346 "Ramping down" in that context means that the driver's automatic temperature regulation kicks in after crossing a preset threshold, which in turn throttles down the light output. It's a heat management control. 🙂
I love my FC12 and so does my wallet...it's a awesome budget FL. not everyone is going a need to spend 100+ on a FL if not needed. for the average non LEO Joe....the FC12 is perfect.
@@DarrenYeoYT yes...I have the S6... which I wish had a clip with it. waiting for a battery charger with some extra batteries. my S2 and S15 and pioenman k11 are still enroute.
Hey Bruce, it's a good tactical long range light for those on a budget or otherwise. I swapped the tube for an 18350 and keep it as a back-up these days :D
Hi Mario, they're both very different lights but on the highest modes, the P16 outperforms significantly in terms of overall brightness and throw. Many factors come into play, things like high drain batteries, driver performance. The FC13 also has an orange peel reflector. With that said, It's a great value flashlight, just designed for general use rather than tactical and high performance.
I'm curious if you know, but do any of these lights have "dual springs" to protect against impact damage? I owned the sp35 from sofirn, and it started having issues after a couple of drops. I'm trying to find a replacement that's more durable but with similar/better performance.
