When you're dating a super model things are amazing. However when it goes bad it tends to crash and burn quickly. However when things are working and smooth it's pure bliss... so I say #worthit 🤣

I'm hoping ACEDECK might want the deck to check it over. I think it might have had a flaw to cause these trucks to break. Doesn't seem to be a problem for others.
@ALTRON3
@ALTRON3 7 месяцев назад
3rd truck breakage you say? Thats totally unacceptable. I wouldn't wanna get back on a replacement as there seems to be something fundamentally wrong with the design . Some say "the wheels are too small. get bigger ones" but they're the wheel acedeck ships with the board so they're supposed to work correctly. nope.

Just got the replacement parts. Getting it all back together is quite the challenge but hoping to post an updated video soon on it.
@Brennen_Nisporic

Must be a weak design for that truck. Should have a steel rod going through the middle with all the weight from those motors directly on the truck. Great video hopefully ace deck sees this video and comes up with a better solution so this doesn’t keep happening
@TTLBALLER
@TTLBALLER 9 месяцев назад
Agreed, I think a steel axle would be much better. I get how they want to keep things lighter but aluminum in these areas just crack. Sounds like they're aware of the issue. Part of me wants to send them the videos but another part wants them to treat me like a normal consumer who isn't plastering their products online. So far they haven't disappointed me. I got an email stating they've updated the trucks which they will send out with a new deck. So now I'll be learning how to take apart an esk8

Where did you buy your truck at? Cuz my on the fourth day and this is months ago. They said they're going to send a replacement still waiting on it be shipped. I haven't bought one in addition and it's still waiting to be shipped fuck Acedeck!

Shoot! They sent me a new ones but it definitely took a couple months to get it. Which means over the year of owning it I've only gotten a handful of rides on it. I'd say it takes 2 months 😐 I didn't want to buy one as it wasn't my fault 3 trucks broke. It's just about rebuilt and the new trucks look better, hoping for good things as the board is sweet when it's rolling. Hopefully it'll get out to you soon.

@BN99239
@BN99239 6 месяцев назад
Oh man...Glad you are okay. You said third truck snapped?? This is just a random guess but from other applications of reinforced, very strong carbon fiber, such as in cars, bicycles, golf clubs, fishing poles etc., it has to be done correctly. This material's inherent rigidity could inadvertently channel stress to less resilient components. Specifically, the deck's inability to flex under the cumulative impact of road and motor vibrations, coupled with the dynamic load of the rider, might concentrate stress onto the trucks. There are a bunch of carbon fiber decks out there, but maybe those are still "soft" enough to handle small vibrations so they are fine. Acedeck did say that they made their carbon deck super strong and reinforced it with something too, so it's probably stiffer than most carbon fiber decks. So instead of having all of that force spread over the deck and trucks, most of it just goes straight to wherever the weakest points in the trucks are.

Acedeck makes great boards. I heard they are updating these trucks for the direct drive so hoping it'll remedy this. The other boards though are bomb proof and amazing decks, motors and performance. The ARES X1 is my favorite board! I wouldn't write them off, their customer service is taking care of the issues and sending me a new truck and deck so it just goes to show their customer service cares and is top notch.
@gabrielpursley2812

I wouldn't trust trucks/or a brand if they broke 3 times. I've put over 2300+ miles on my two eskates within 7months, a exway x1max hub & a meepo envy. Neither have had any truck breaks and they are considered far less nice boards compared to acedeck. My x1 even had a catastrophic wreck day 3 of owning it when a women ran me off road head on and the truck locked up on side of asphalt ejecting me at 35mph. The truck got huge chunk taken out of it by the wreck, and even 1700 miles later on that deck the truck hasn't broke, and I'm not easy on it. The fact their trucks keep breaking and then YOU have to pay for it is fucking bullshit.
@TTLBALLER
@TTLBALLER 9 месяцев назад
Wow! That says a lot about the quality of the exway. Glad you're okay after a crazy wreck like that! I'd say a hub based truck should have similar strength character of a direct drive so it doesn't make sense why mine would keep breaking. Luckily I've only had to pay for one truck and I did get a discount code that worked on a new board from them so I think I came out even better overall...

Rad video! I’ve hit some crazy cracks with my board, I wonder if the size of the tires matters. I’ve never ridden my off-road board with street tires cause I’m afraid the weight of the board is too much for the street tires to handle with the pressure of hitting the cracks and that affects the trucks. From like the heavy vibrations maybe? Cause the offroad tires can handle more pressure from the cracks compared to the street tires…
@TTLBALLER
@TTLBALLER 9 месяцев назад
For sure! I think tire choice is super important. ACEDECK is usually improving boards and equipment and they said they have new trucks to handle the stress. Hopefully I get them in soon and it makes a difference. However I'll for sure be putting rubber or just bigger softer tires on the X3. It'll kill the range but that's okay, this thing is a range monster anyways.

Normally stuff like this doesn't happen with belt drives. You could try putting 105mm mad wheelz or 115mm onsra wheels. They are more like rubber and larger and alot softer and more grippy and more comfortable. They will absorb the bumps more and might help save ur trucks but this is a major problem that I haven't seen with other boards.
@TTLBALLER
@TTLBALLER 9 месяцев назад
Once I get a new truck and deck I think that's what I'm going to do. I'm going to be pretty careful for a while on it. The axles are pretty thin... there might be something said for the durable of belt and gear drive. Putting motors in axles must create a weak point.

All three have been exactly the same spot. Just where it goes into the truck. Wish I could just slide another axle in as the truck body is totally fine. I think Acedeck is going to a stronger alloy there. Hopefully this will rectify the issue. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed it works.

@TTLBALLER
@TTLBALLER 7 месяцев назад
I'd say the Lorentz Major is a great brand that stands behind their products and customer service is great. I do like ACEDECK though still. I think they have great innovation, the main issue might be that they are a relatively new company and they have so many different boards so the chances of failure could be higher. Their ESC needs some refinement I feel when being compared to LM, Backfire, or Meepo which I think make great products though with ACEDECK they have a lot of passion put into their products

Wow, are the truck hollow?!? Looking at the broken one at 6:22 they appears to be. That would be a terrible design decision for a truck, even if it was a push board it would be terrible, never mind a board with 4 powerful motors like this one. Acedeck should correct that because that not just a quality problem, it's a major safety issue.
@TTLBALLER
@TTLBALLER 9 месяцев назад
The part that broke is a Steele axle. Not hallow but the diameter I think could be increased. The axle insertion point into the actual truck is where these have broken on me. Acedeck has already updated the trucks they said with forged Steele so this shouldn't happen again. Hopefully so and I'll keep updating the status of how things go and turn out.

Yea, luckily I am good. A little lost skin on elbow and a knee but nothing crazy. I really haven't seen any direct drive boards in the wild... @BlownMacTruck
@BlownMacTruck 9 месяцев назад
@@TTLBALLER Direct drive is definitely more limited in applications, but the places where it shines make it REALLY compelling. It's extremely quiet, doesn't have the jarring effect of hub motors, has a decent amount of wheel swapability, and in four wheel drive configurations, it just feels SO buttery in deep carves. Check out the Tranzite direct drive boards (the Roadster in particular) if you want something a bit more on the high / custom end.

Same same but different. Haha, haven't heard that said much. I'm a bit sad I posted this as I didn't think the reaction would be this big. I hate to potentially hurt a business like ACEDECK but I also just want to be honest with each video I make. The worst would be to called a sellout or Doug marketing for these businesses. I paid good hard earned money for each board and as this was one of my first and what I feel is the best riding board I'm super sad it's broke. I'd love to just take the blame and say it's all My fault but I also paid $1,600 for a product that broke and also damaged expensive pants and jackets and left me with many sleepless nights from road rash. Granted I didn't film much then but it has been something I've been wanting to do for a long time, though life hardships and time haven't allowed it much till now. The last video I made with this board the front truck broke at the end of it however I left that part out as I didn't want ACEDECK to have any bad press. I sucked it up for two of them and this is the first time mentioning it. Luckily I'm good and I crashed going into a park I thought would be a cool drone location. Just minutes before I was flying down a pretty solid descent... that would've hurt way way more. The board yesterday was not riding the same as normal but I thought it was just because the front truck was real loose though when I think about it the rear did feel a bit off. I think it was being slowly stressed for a while maybe and I could've put more weight on the back at that moment and it just gave in. Up till then I was really putting weight on the front to stabilize it. Crashes I guess will happen, these products are pretty new so we have to be careful and always wear protective gear.

I just hope this doesn't happen to anyone else out there. Sounds like only one other person has a broken truck. I probably ride these boards beyond where they should. I'm usually pushing my equipment and body to the max and it gets me in trouble at times. I don't believe it's ACEDECKS fault 100% as I've ridden on rough trails a lot, hit potholes and have to kind of hop to take weight off decks a lot to get over rough road surfaces. CA roads are not that great and especially here in Tahoe but there isn't much I can do about that so it's ride some sections that aren't optimal or not ride and I'm not about to do the latter...

The ARES X1 has been rock solid so far. It's a much beefier board all together so I don't imagine having any issues. I think the combo of direct drive on long axles puts a lot of strain on them. Hard carving, continuous stress must've just slowly strained that axle point where it goes into the actual metal truck.
