I got this laptop back in 2016 and it was actually advertised as having the raid setup in order to increase speed. still use it to this day and absolutely love the ezel hinge design. not to mention its still blazing fast. shame they never brought it back, as i dont think i could ever comfortably go back to using a laptop with a traditional hinge design. otherwise i would've upgraded ages ago. came across your video because i was looking for information on backing it up and upgrading the capacity since 240gb just doesnt cut it anymore. admittedly, your video didnt actually help with that, but i did find it very interesting that you would have one of these and not know about the raid setup, since it was a prominently advertised feature.

Hi, Been watching your vids, some interesting stuff. If this is a problem for your cloner why not just use Acronis software, that is the stuff most manufacturers seem to give you to clone to a new SSD. It should handle this just plug in your new drive via a usb (plug or toaster) and boot acronis from a usb stick. They will make the boot for you. Actually afterward you can use the boot usb anywhere for cloning with a Sata to usb plug/toaster. Howie
I have the higher-res screen version of this and the drives show as partitioned (2 x 120) and I have never been able to merge them--no protocol or software touches the division on my machine. I really want to know which one of these PCI SSDs contains the OS, because I want to expand the memory and leave the OS's SSD in the machine.
@@tywanjames4427 Mine actually has its two SSDs in the slots where the silver cover is here. The one closest to the battery has the OS on it. I replaced the non-OS SSD with a 500gb SSD.
A client just brought one of these to me for factory reset. He wants a hard drive with more storage space, currently it only has 100gb. So does this mean he has to buy two identical ssd in order to upgrade the storage space?
Naw you can use just one. This computer came out when stuff was a little more expensive so it probably was cheaper for them to use 2 128gb sticks instead of one 250gb stick.
i have this laptop and only have half the space it shows in the video, its been like that ever since ive got it, (i think my school made them "mirror" as was said in the video, i have everything backed up to my google drive constantly so is there any way i can revert that change? (i dont go to that school anymore and i bought the laptop from the school, so its mine)
ahh, ok, i was going to wipe it soon anyway as my school did something that disabled updates and upgrading to a non "windows 10 *education*" version of windows and ive tried everything ive can think of to fix it without success, thank you for the help and for the quick reply
