I tentatively planned to replace the screen on My Son's Acer NITRO 5. After watching Your incredibly, concise, and well paced tutorial, the plan went from tentative to concrete. Once I finish, I will give an update. PLEASE NOTE. If I am NOT successful, Your tutorial will NOT be to blame. Lol
You sir, are a legend, an icon, a lifesaver. I saved like $200 by following your guide and the laptop is functioning like normal again! (although my screen's like 1 mm lower than before but whatevs) I've never even opened a computer before, so I didn't think I'd be able to do it, but I figured, what did I have to lose? Thanks for the detailed guide, man!
My goodness, PLEASE forgive me sir. I meant to leave an update a long time ago. You sir, are a literal Godsend. I pray for your continuous blessings, happiness, and loved ones. A year ago, I was a 55!!! year old, widowed mom of a 16-year-old. I would NOT describe myself as a "techie". But because of YOU, I SUCCESSFULLY replaced the screen on my kid's Acer Nitro 5. You are so calming, reassuring, and you get right to the point!!! THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. I am subscribing to your channel NOW. Perhaps I will have the "balls" to repair something else. ONLY with YOUR guidance, though. Lol. God Bless you. Oh yeah and the BEST part. My son called me a "Girl Boss"!!! I haven't been considered a "girl" in 40 years!!! but...!!!
WARNING: Always detach the laptop battery before making a repair like this. I took his advice and figured "ah I'll just keep the battery in, it'll be fine." Completely bricked my laptop to the point where it won't turn on at all and there are no LEDs on. Just upgraded to a newer model after that headache. Edit: Also make sure to discharge static/ground yourself when working on electronics like this
I just did it without unequipping the battery and it's working fine. The only problem I had is they left none of the old glue exposed, so had to remove the hinge to get the screen off
Thank you so much for posting this video! I bought two of those handy tweezers and it was very easy to grab the tape and get a grip on it. You are a genius and this is very, very well made video.
Thank you so much for such a an amazing demonstration of how to replace a LCD screen properly. I followed all your suggestions to the "T" and I had absolutely no issues. This saved me over $100 on tech repair services. I wouldn't have been able to attempt this without your expertise. Wonderful video buddy, much appreciated 👍😎
Many thanks for this detailed video, it has proved to be a massive help in replacing my sons screen. Other guides don't show you how to deal with the tape situation correctly.
Thank you for this my son recently broke my laptop screen and now Im just waiting for it to be delivered but to feel better I immediately looked for tutorials to make sure I could fix it without having to pay someone in these bad times I was so upset lol thank you for this tutorial
Do you know what screen I can use for the 120hz upgrade? Actually I’m trying to use the nitro 5 for picture editing...would I be able to use the nitro 7 screen to get a better color?
Thanks for the video. My integrated mic is having intermittent issues. It seems like there is a loose connection etc at the top of bezel near what I believe to be the microphone. Do you have any history with similar issues?
My screen moved down a bit so I can't see about 10 pixels from the bottom and I'm wondering if it's worth opening and risking damaging it just to move it back up a little bit
For this acer nitro 5 , is there any 120hz screen without bracket ? I can find only 60hz without brackets. Can i try to remove the bracket and mount the 120hz ?
So my Laptop is a Nitro 5 and it has the same screen but I already ordered 2 to the same number and I keep on getting a bigger screen. Where did you get yours and do they have the same size on a 120hz ?
Thanks a lot, it worked! In my case, there wasn't any scotch visible behind the screen that I could have grabbed to tear it out, so I slipped I thin knife there and cut/pushed the scotch away.
Hello , I have a Acer predator helios 300 PH 315-25 58 AV . I have a 60hz screen and want to upgrade to a 144hz will it be as same as nitro 5 like this video... or would there be pin issues ?? help me out..
So here I am trying to remove my screen and the bezzle broke and the tape was so small on 3 corners that they broke on my first try to grab them. Only suceeded to take it off one of them. Now I don't know how to remove the rest. Any ideas?
Thank you for this video, mine was the same except no access to the double sided tape. If you remove the top 2 and bottom 6 screws you can get better access to the adhesive behind the screen. I only needed to re-seat my cable from the back and seems to have fixed my screen thankfully!
Reading other comments reminded me that I bought EVERYTHING you suggested. You should have your own "school" with government subsidies, the WORKS!!! I mean if you can guide a 55-year-old, menopausal widow, to replace a laptop screen SUCCESSFULLY via, RU-vid, I can only imagine what you can accomplish in-person, with younger folk. I began the journey to "computer screen repair" because I was enraged by the condescending, arrogance of a 'Best Buy' "Geek Squad" tech. And the PRICE he quoted??? I instinctively KNEW he was trying to rip me off. I had the $$$, but his attitude was SO off putting, that I told him so and left. And planned on going to ANOTHER Best Buy "Geek Squad". But then I felt The Holy Spirit and went online, where I saw a bunch of videos stating that these "Geek Squads" DO deliberately inflate prices. And every one of those videos kept stating that One is better off doing it themselves. And before I knew it, I watched YOUR video, ordered the "stuff" and voila.
Very good and detailed video, thank you. i think than paste the screen with tape is a stupid idea they got from an other supid idea from apple. I lost an iMac 2012 screen because the tape dried out and fell from the computer. But in Acer Nitro you still have other parts holding the screen
Great video sir! One question though... by chance, do you if it's possible to upgrade to 120hz on that model? I have the 2020 version and it has the smaller bezels like that one you have. I've seen they upgrade the older version with thicker bezels but I'd like to know if this one is able as well. Thank you
My AN 515-51 didn't have any glue strips on luckily so it was easy to remove. Tried adding some but that doesn't works since the screen sits a bit higher from the backside apparently? Guess that is why it didn't have any in the first place. Finally managed to fix that thing!
Did you upgrade the LCD or just replaced it with the same LCD? I want to upgrade to a 120hz. I purchased one on amazon for a Nitro AN515 but didn't work as I think it was made for the thick bezel.
Waited a whole week for my replacement screen only for me to break it on the very last step of taping it inside of the enclosure. I didn't align it right and I tried to realign it and I guess I cracked one side. Guess I'm not cut out for fixing this thing anyways.
Thanks for this. I didn't need a screen replacement, but a few milimeters of the bottom part of my screen is missing, meaning half the date/time is underneath the protector and some games' loading bar can't be seen.
I have the 1660ti model with the 60hz display, do you know if I can upgrade it to a 30 pin 120hz display or will the laptop not support it? If it can do you know where I can buy it?
Hi. Bro After screen Replacement.. My acer nitro5 not turn on. Power light and charger light is normal. But laptop and keyboard, fan not turn on.. Help me
Hi there, i just found the part in website but the item is named like this "LCDOLED 15.6 72% NTSC FHD IPS LCD Screen Display N156HCE-EN1 N156HCA-EA1 NV156FHM-N61 N156HCA-EAB N156HCA-EBA N156HCA-EBB LP156WF9-SPC1 B156HAN02.1" so many model no... are they the same thing or compatible or what.. really need your help so i purchase correctly...
They are the same size but it won't fit on your laptop because of the mounting points you would need to purchase an LCD screen that specifically goes with that laptop
@@irwinjeremyisip1244 yes I actually made the mistake of buying one that had mounting points if you're going to buy an LCD replacement make sure not to buy one that has mounting points
Usually it doesn't matter what type of screen as long it has same pin and same position, better quality means more pins. If you have 60hz for 30pin, then 40pin means 144hz. let say the pin on the screen on the left bottom then you have to find the left bottom. Other than that you have to look for screen size. Is it 15inch screen or not.
