Same here in the UK. Leaf burn/scorched due to some remarkable heat we experienced. I just kept up with the watering regime and hoped the potted maples coped. My Osakazuki has bad leaf burn on the upper canopy of its frame and even my two Jordan Maples, kept underneath two mature Silver Birch trees suffered also. Like most gardeners, if this year is bad then we look forward to future seasons which is more favourable with the climates.
Same here with me Brandon, I plan on planting my Phoenix in the next week or so. We finally got 3/4 days of good rain. The maples and all the rest of the plants loved it. Good luck to you with that heat, I know the feeling all too well.🥵 Edit I actually planted it today!!!! 😆

Greatly depends on the heat index. Likely a desert is to hot for Acer palmatum cultivars. They typically work zones 5-9. I know Las Vegas is typically way to hot
