Seriyu aka blue green dragon is most definitely a must have🔥. I got mine in early June and it literally grew a solid foot since then and it’s still in a pot for the time being. The fall colors are absolutely gorgeous! It’s a must have! Thank you 🍁 brothers for the daily amazing content🤩. #japanesemaples❤️🍁🔥!

Ordered a 1 gallon Seiryu from Mr Maple and it arrived 6 feet tall! It was folded around twice in the box packed with 3 other JM's 😂😂😂 Has recovered since and grown another foot in just a couple months. Thank you guys, I like to see the mature tree videos.

Mr Maple is the best! Have a dozen of thei cultivars so far. Seiryu is one of them. So beautiful, healthy and vigorous. Never thought i could be so excited about growing anything, but these videos and the resources and pics on their website do ignite intrest and i have started a new hobby 🙂

Planted a 10 gallon specimen in 2020 and it’s going wild. Trunk has doubled in size and it went from standing 7 ft to over 10 ft now. I’ve already pruned it into a lovely specimen. Important to keep it thinned out to show off the curving and twisting of the inner branches. It gets congested with branches everywhere since it is such a fast grower. My fall color has not been as brilliant but I hear that is typical in the southern NC piedmont with its humid summers.

Outstanding. Just a thought. I have a 'Judith Ann' seedling from 'Seiryu'. You would think that someone would of found a seedling from 'Seiryu' that is like the parent but stays red all year. Let's Go boys. Discover a Red 'Seiryu'. (Yes you made me aware of English Lace)

Thanks for the great content, guys. A question: I don’t have the space for Seiryu in the ground but would still love to have it for my deck. Would you recommend growing this JM in a large container, or is it too fast growing for any container, period?

It’s typically red but I’ve seen it be very bright to dark red

Wow, truly a beauty. I just purchased my 3rd seiryu yesterday. It's 10 ft tall, 8 ft wide, about as big as I can fit in my cargo van. The placement I thought I was setting it may be too small, they really can use a lot of space, (miscalculated) I have one that's 16 ft wide. I could use some advice on a red dragon that is about 20 years old and was very beautiful but last year the beatles hurt it some and this spring it got very warm and then went down to 20 and my red dragon looks like it is dead but it isn't. There are some red leaves coming out. It's interesting looking with the branches but really don't want that look in my garden at my age. How long do you think it would take for it to be handsome again if ever? I don't want to dig it up and move it it is very established and could kill it and besides it is large and very difficult for me to move it. Any advice my friends!

Extremely heat tolerant. Needs some protection in zone 9 but typically 5-8 sun works great

I know it's risky planting this in full sun, especially in Orlando, but the spot I have for it is on the street, NW side of our very small, 10th of an acre property. I know that if I plant against recommendations, there is no warranty. Would you risk it?
