Nope I still have it. HDR games looks really good on this monitor and SDR content looks better than it did before. I’m coming off from a 1440p predator monitor and the difference is astounding! The blacks are much more deeper and brightness is definitely up there. Playing Resident Evil 2 in 4K HDR is amazing!!! When you see things like explosions and fire, it feels closer to what your eyes see in real life.
jdj9 Also I played a bit of Jump Force on it and OMFG it’s insane, the colors, the realistic lighting, and details are just awesome! BFV looks pretty damn good too. I’m playing it at 4K 75+ FPS HDR and everything ULTRA including Ray Tracing (now that DICE added DLSS support), it looks just awesome!
I came real close to just getting this but that fan is a dealbreaker. It would be one thing if they partnered with Noctua for excellent cooling that was silent and effective but with a durable and replaceable fan but the way this fan was implemented seems poorly thought out as an afterthought. Even if they just had a standard 140mm fan that was swappable I would have probably picked it up.
Right you are. My mistake. Even more of a facepalm moment - there's no excuse for such a clumsy solution (on both Nvidia and the monitor manufacturer's part).
its weird cause I been owning this monitor for about 4 months now and I'm still confused about this fan everyone is talking about. I mean I'm sure its in there but I haven't heard it not once and I live in California, typical temperatures in my household is usually 75-81 degrees Fahrenheit. If the fan is active, its dead silent, even when gaming in 4k HDR for hours long (recently played DMC5 in 4k HDR for about 6-8 hours straight and I still hear no fan except the one from my PC and my PC is pretty quiet).
Do not buy this monitor for any console current gen HDR does not work on ps4 pro or xbox 1X :( acer Does not tell you this anywhere on their website or literature no one mentions it in their own forum either
Actually, right now Acer Predator went for an incredible sale (due to Black Friday i assume) down to 1750£ in the UK through amazon, while no discount for the asus one anywhere. Unfortunately i bought it 2 weeks ago for 2k.
hey TechyTalk! New subscriber here. great channel. obviously you know a lot about PC Screens so I would like to ask you - For Photos/Videos editing purposes.. do you have a clear IPS 27" winner?
Thanks. What sort of budget and resolution are you thinking? Also, are you looking for something suitable for gaming as well? If not then the Dell U2717D is a great display. If gaming is of interest then the Acer XF270HU is a good option for the same price.

The flaw in these monitors right now are the displayport 1.2 and hdmi 2.0. It does not have the required bandwidth to support chroma sample 4.4.4, so the colors becomes lacking. Also its overpriced for what you get. And, in this case its not even HDR10 support which is terrible. Still again the Asus does not support 144 hz and HDR which would make HDR pretty useless unless you are watching movies or are playing on a consol/100 hz gaming in which case the 144 hz functionality is made useless. And that issue is also a bandwith issue. So, untill the new gen of ports comes out, 4k, 144 and HDR is just a theoretical concept.
Maybe is not there anybody who wants to sell me an Acer Predator x27? Here in Hungary no one has been able to buy, although I would pay 1400 euros for it.
How does games look if i for example set shadow of the tomb raider to 2k instead? Does it still look sharp? Because that game in 2k everything maxed out i get 80fps so it would struggle in 4k. But i still want the benefits of the hdr, better colors, black levels and contrast. Im very demanding when it comes to screens.
In games you're unlikely to notice much softness to the image - it still looks great. It'll be in text and general desktop use that you're more likely to notice.
@@TechyTalkUK Yeah, my resolution will always be set to 4k in the control panel. It's just in some games where i would prefer to change the resolution in the in game settings to 2k so i get better frames. But it will still look as sharp as a native 1440p monitor then?
Bro can u tell me what is best monitor for ps4 pro best image and without ghosting on screen, i am using now samsung quantum dot C32HG70 but ist has little input lag and ghosting on screen i need best monitor 27 inc or more and 1 ms
Quite honestly, for console gaming I'd have thought the C32HG70 is entirely adequate. With the PS4 Pro's maximum refresh rate being limited to 60Hz and it having minimal input lag, it should cope just fine. The only thing you can significantly improve is response time, but again you should hardly be able to notice this for console gaming. Either way, my recommendation for an alternative that has good overall image quality and gaming performance is the Acer XF270FU.
Dam why's this stuff gotta be so expensive? Like there's 120Hz HDMI 2.1 TVs with all the features for less at times. I've just got a small room and desk so prefer 24-28" monitors but man, I can't afford this lol. Looking a monitor for next gen consoles but really can't decide where to compromise, there's no HDMI 2.1 yet and this is like 1 of 3 true HDR monitors I know of.
Hello everybody Can't find a solution :) I have the X27 brand new, how can I assign my color profiles to the monitor in Windows 10? When I change profiles in W10 I don't see any difference. Should work urgently
First: "The price is too god damn high" (Flossy Carter) Second: it is not a 32 inch monitor Third: the bezels are way too thick for a 2018 monitor... I mean is this a joke from Acer?? All mounts up to... WTF!!
Gamers don't want 32 inch, fald monitors have bigger bezels who cares, this is cutting edge in every regard it costs money and is comparable with the best TV's except with low input lag.
