John hit it on the nose. I'm 70, live in the northeast and I'm a retired sports performance coach. I hang and hunt, been a bowhunter for 50 years and haven't slowed down. Resistance exercise is the key to functional longevity. Keep working out and watching your intake and hunt for a long time !

Same story.I agree. At 70,always workout, watch what you eat and be in the woods the same amount you were in your 30's.

Thank you for doing this video and sharing this interview! I'm 77 and still hunting. I took six deer last year, and in one of my RU-vid videos, I share how it took me four hours to get this buck out of the woods and in my car! I too have lost weight and try to keep my weight at 162, but I love to eat venison and wild boar. I drink red wine and try to walk at least three times per week. I'm hoping to do this well into my 80's!

I like john, and I respect him. He's clearly puts in the effort and reaps the results. But you asked him how many bucks he got in Michigan last year, and he tells you that mini box he got in Michigan last year and he has to tell you he got a "book" buck. Its like who cares John.. all you had to do was say one and no one would have thought less of you LOL😂 he's a character

Something to add on to this, attitude. My mother in law decided in her early 60s she was old and basically stopped doing much. My dad in his 70s on the other hand has chosen to keep doing what he’s always done, hike, hunt, fish, bike, etc. He just keeps on doing what he’s always done his whole life. If you have this attitude that you’re old and use your age as an excuse to sort of pack it in and not do much you absolutely will lose the ability to do the things you once loved to do. You will get old. But if you just keep on keeping on you’ll continue to be able to do those things. Maybe not as well as when you were young indefinitely but you won’t be stuck on an easy chair watching tv all day like my mother in law. Attitude goes a LONG way in maintaining the ability to stay mobile and active.

I was glad to see this one come out. I always enjoy listening to John. I wasn’t sure how to take him when I first heard him 5 or so years ago; however, John’s a great guy. He’s called me multiple times to answer questions I had sent him via email. Always super helpful and it’s clear he dedicates a ton of his own time to sharing his wealth of knowledge with the next generation.

When did he admit this? I watched the whole podcast and don't know what you are talking about.

Hey brother I understand you're upset about what John said about cutting lanes. I see you're commenting it on every video. Listen man there isn't anything you can do about it whether it's wrong or right. Try to focus more of your time bringing yourself up and being a positive light instead of finding things to bring others down. Unless you're a CO in Michigan and want to go talk to John about it I would try to let it go. It seems like it might be consuming you in a negative way. God Bless man

67 work out 4 days a week 3 hours at a time. I’m in best shape of my life. Been saddle hunting over 30 years and shooting a bow since I was 6. Staying in shape is a mind set, and I promised my self I’d never have a tummy and I don’t. Drew an elk and mule deer tag in Colorado. Solo hunt in wilderness area, doesn’t get any better than that. 🏹👍🏕️🦌🏔️
