I’ve definitely found there are a lot more little rules tucked away here and there for this game than I had expected. Really been enjoying it though.

I wonder if you could play this with each tank changed to a troop ( 4 tanks ) Playing at 15mm on a 6x4

When it comes to this and What A Tanker from TFL… I really think Too Fat Lardies done it better. What a Tanker relies a bit on both the cooperation of your dice and some luck in hoping you get the right ones to load, spot and fire but if you can’t hoping you get the right ones to move too to avoid receiving shots back. As such, weirdly you actually find yourself moving more to engage enemy targets but also to help avoid getting shot at.

Yes? If you park in the wrong spot, the Panther will be splat. The German tanks were heavy on the front and had sizeable range for their weapons. It's also important to remember, there were over 50,000 Sherman tanks made for the USA alone, and just under 6000 Panther tanks built. Yes, the Panther will crush the Sherman, I believe General Bradley had many words about the inefficiencies of the Sherman tanks, but they did seem to populate like cockroaches, so quantity over quality. It's easy to get into gaming mechanics on these games, but on paper, the German war machines were pretty good. Which is why the USA used so much of the tech to improve their tanks post WW2. This isn't chess, with two exactly even forces, it's not paper-rock-scissors where this one beats that and is beaten by another (like 40k and most other tabletop wargames). This is tactical, and the enemy both sides fight is time.

And some smoke and shaking as well just for added effects 😁

Depends on the terrain. I get that the average distance of a tank battle was something like 500 yards but they absolutely also occurred at point blank ranges, often in cities.

Not ridiculous at all. Have you seen the historic camera footage of the tank duel in Cologne in 1945? There was a panther, a pershing and several shermans involved in a small area of the city centre. There are numerous other well known cases, for example, at the French village of Stonne in 1940.

That's the size of tanks they make, the game never had a chance of not looking like it does.
