Geiles Teil ich habe ja auch ein Roland MC 808 Groovebox muss dir mal im Internet in die Groove reinziehen ja geil das Gerät einwandfrei Maschinen sowieso absolute Welle sinnvoll sexy aus
I just ordered one!!!! Can't wait until it arrives. I'm gonna see how it compares to the real thing as well as the Behringer RD-8 and the Roland TR-8S. I already know that bassdrum on the Miami is INSANE!!!!!!
@@benringer5149 No. I thought about it at first, but decided to purchase a used one on Reverb since it was already in the USA in a nearby state and wouldn't take as long to ship to my destination. I have it now and it works. However, the trim pots need to be calibrated so I can tune and adjust the sounds to get them to not only sound properly but also get them to sound like my original TR808. Most importantly, I can tune them the way I want them. Now, I just need to hunt down that tiny screwdriver tool I will need to disassemble the unit. As soon as I can get that tool, I'll take on the task. From my understanding the circuitry is almost identical to the original TR808 in terms of the analog drum voices. Therefore, I'm thinking tuning the trim pots should be easy as pie once I'm able to get to them.
@mske2279 The Miami is still listed on Acidlab's website for 690 euros. So, it doesn't appear to be discontinued. As far as whether or not they ship directly, I'm not sure. However, I don't see why they wouldn't be able to ship directly. They do have a list of dealers on their website located I'm various countries (maybe there's one in your area) that you can contact to find out more about what they have available and how to order. Some of the pages on the Acidlab website are not in English, unfortunately.
I have it combo with my nava909 and alpha base. An mpc and a gb2 32 in their middle..techno for years. I have an emotional bond with miami dont know why
@@DominikVogelModular love acidlab elektron never gel with it but i had a crap mixer before so maybe if i try it on my little beast i might find its way. I love jomox and acidlab boxes tho. Nava is better than no 909 at all i guess haha. Tmr im pulling the trigger on an acidlab bassline3 any feedback about it? Seems very interesting has smth like a two track parts sequencer on it also or smth? Anw when i tested it it sounded like i could generate 2 basslines. I love acidlab for the simplicity the way the look and my miami is bulletproof. I dream of a modular but cant afford it🤣🤣 love ur setup
thank you for demoing this! i was wondering, how do you find the trigger outputs? i want to do something like a guy called gerald, but the original tr-808 has three trigger outputs, apparently the miami has just 1. i like music like cameo (80s funk), house, wide variety. So i want something like the 808, but also something (maybe a 2nd machine) like the linndrum or lm-1 for those heavy gated 80s sounds. what can you recommend? thank you for the video.
thank you! well the miami has only one trigger out, sending the triggers programmed in the accent-track. so if you need the accent for a pattern, you´re kinda stuck with that sequence. i would recommend to check out jomox xbase, can sound very eighties but also in the 909 direction.. or if you use eurorack there´s a nice drummachine module from endorphin.es called blck noir.
Hi, thanks for the demo. If you use the accent out to sync a modular sequencer with, for example, 16th notes, does that mean that you lose the ability to apply more interesting accent sequences simultaneously? The only workaround for this would be to sync using MIDI, which is a little inconvenient.
hi, yes sure since its only one accent track and one related trigger output. usually i run miami as a slave in my setup and use accent only for accent purpose.
@@DominikVogelModular Thanks for your reply, your answer has been very helpful! I suppose these little limitations are a part of what makes using machines such as this special - in my setup I would just need to make room for a small DIN-sync module, or use the Miami as a master without accents.
I think i'd get bored of this very quickly - sounds good but there's barely any way to tweak the sounds. I'd prefer a heavily modified one. I really like the ease of use and simplicity of the interface but want way more hands on tweakability.
