Confession always make me feel anxious and vulnerable. But afterwards, you feel so much freedom and peace from Christ. It is truly divine remedy for the soul.
The urge to confess my sins has never been so strong. This Saturday I will go to confession well prepared. I live in Auburn California. My priest is named father innocent. He spent several years in prison and Africa. This particular priest is full of kindness, compassion and he is all around awesome. He learns thru example.
This was a wonderful homily! One of the best instructions on Confession that I have ever heard! Thank you, Fr. Jonathan Meyer and may God bless you always!
"Doctor of your soul...I wanna know where you're wounded and bring Christ to that". Wow Excellent! Extremely helpful and clearly explained!!! Sharing this for sure. I took notes! Thank you Father! 🙏😊🙏
I like your message. I was going for 8 years . And I returned to the church. Did 3 Confessions Even though I was gone 8 years I did not do a good confession for 40 years I put everything on my phone so I won't forget. And I'm going to mass regularly And I've been going taking Holy communion I've been back for 4 weeks now going to Sunday mass. Now I'm a practicing Catholic I am Perfect If I make a mistake I go to confession and I'm I can keep the list short I'll go once a month.
Fr Jonathan go on the house tops and give that same homily...wow does this world need that encouragement like BREAD.I AM SO SURE THAT THE LINES WILL GET LONGER AND LONGER WITH THAT ENCOURAGING HOMILY. MY PRAYERS AND MASS WILL BE FOR ALL YOUR PARISHIONERS.
Sometimes it helps me to go to Confession at another parish, one with a reputation for traditional norms like this priest. I also know a couple of Catholics who have made it a point to ALWAYS go to confession at other parishes than their own, to avoid the remote possibility of being "found out" by their voices, etc. Usually very active parishioners who don't want the possibility of any kind of revelation of identity during confession to interfere with personal relationships with the priests in their own parish. I can understand that position and sometimes do the same myself. The important thing is to just be sure to go.
♥️👶🏻♥️ I LOVE HEARING THE BABIES AND CHILDREN ♥️👶🏻♥️LIFE WOULD BE MEANINGLESS WITHOUT THEM♥️I LEARNED FROM YOU FATHER JONATHON ♥️THANKYOU FOR BEING HONEST AND TEACHING US♥️IVE BEEN A BELIEVING PRACTICING CATHOLIC FOR 64 YEARS AND YOU ARE A JUST WHAT I NEEDED TODAY❌💯♥️
As a mother of 8 I understand both sides, better, now that my children are adults. Be patient, it's vital for R C. mom's to attend these conferences for their own sake, but for the sake of the priest and other attendees, keep close to an exist for when the little ones have a meltdown.☺️
I am on the path to hell, I am weak against temptation. I don't want to be however. Please please pray for me, I want to stop failing and crucifying God and I want to cooperate with the graces he provides me.
Go to confession as much as you can, brother. And with you act of contrition say you promise to sin no more. And have that firm decision. Even if you fall again that will more rare until you can win over temptation. God gives you the grace, brother, just open your heart to it. God bless you 🙏
That was very helpful. I've gotten myself so worked up to have to confess my sins, especially since I've been away from the Church for 35 years! It's good to know exactly what the priests needs from us...no details, just the sins and the number. Do any of you feel like you also need to 'explain' the 'extenuating circumstances' of the sin so it doesn't sound like you just did it for the hell of it? I know it just boils down to knowing that you did the sin with full consent and knowledge and nobody 'made' you do it.
I think explaining why you did it would be somewhat different for every person. A sin is a sin is a sin, but why we sin can also be show us certain voids we need to fill up with virtues. After 35 years, just drag yourself in with a notecard, let it all hang out and once you see you've survived, you will understand why you will feel like David dancing with abandon in front of the ark of the covenant!
Fr Jonathan Meyer thank you for your homily I am somewhat disabled and I wonder if you can keep me in your prayers I am praying for healing of all illnesses in Jesus Christ name amen ❤️ 💕

You are the only Novus Ordo priest I have ever heard talk like this. I've watched tons of you videos now and I'm blown away. I have only heard Usus Antiquior priest give homilies like this. It's so refreshing to hear truth and catechisis from a Novus Ordo priest.
One of the things I've learned we don't go to mass on Sundays just to Motionless . We are to participate Listen to the priest The sermon I listen I couldn't even say what it was about last Sunday it was about to be attitudes . Also go to mass on Sunday Meet with God Because the holy Communion Jesus will body and blood . In the pass When I I joined the church I thought the holy communion What's sabovic I was totally wrong It's his real body and blood.
Dear Fr Jonathan, I would like to Thank God for the Holy Spirits inspiring talks through you. Our God works in mighty ways using people like you in reaching out to people to strengthe their faith. May God continue to shower down his Holy Spirit abundantly on His people. I am looking forward to you visiting us at Melbourne, Australia. God Bless!
God bless you father jonathan for powerful homily in the marian movement for priests our lady calls priest her beloved sons so thank god for the priesthood
God bless you Father..i have been following your Sermons...and the recent sermon...on the Bomb attacks in Srilanka...it was very touching and beautiful...i have shared your video with my family n friends...i am a Catholic from Srilanka. God bless you Father.
Beautiful words can be a deception, he can be sincere, but sincerely wrong. He really thinks he right, but isn't. First ask God to show you the truth, listen well. Give your heart to the Lord, and ask him to lead you into the path of righteousness. Read the book of John's gospel. There is one mediator, between God and man, that man is Christ Jesus. 1 Timothy chapter 2 verse 5. God bless you , and your family with the truth. Jesus loves you, So much that he died for you, he will wash away away your sins, and will remember them no more. Just ask Him to forgive you ( be sincere) and he will forgive you all of your sins. My life has been full of peace and joy, no rules , that does not mean that you ,deliberately sin. I could go on an on, but time is not on my side. Love you in the love of the Lord. Take care.
@Tom Jenkins I don't know if you are trying to burn or debunk me either way, you are not good at it. I embraced Catholicism this year because we are told to confess our sins to others. I view Protestant explanation of John 20:23 ad hoc.
Father I just came across your channel today and I must say I am truly blessed... The eight point for making a good confession.. even though we know that God has already forgiven us, yet many a time we are guilt driven and think the worst about ourselves...I have encountered with such a priest who was condemning, which made me wonder if I did need to confess but as you said I should have made him know what I felt... I now go to another church where I am comfortable and the priests there are more compassionate and understanding...that's what we sinners need.. not a priest condemning us... Thank you for posting your homilies I will continue to watch and I am sure I am going to learn from it... GBU as you continue to enlighten people..
Father have mercy on your Mass servers, from a mass server's point of view. They basically go through the homily standing with you. I love what you are doing!!
God bless you Father...You worried, about telling jokes at the beginning of this Homily. When you said you had people telling you, about other people's sin's you said; "You give them penance to do for their sins." I laughed so hard...now that was funny. Thank you for this Homily too...I learned a lot.
As stated below the Churches through the priest or bishop can forgive sins in Jesus's name. It's in the Bible. RCs, Anglicans, Lutherans, Orthodox, Methodists...yeah I think just about all hold to this doctrine. Some Protestants give an assurance.
My practice in Catholic. My cousin she is a Baptist She told me she has a problem with me Going to confession . But what she doesn't know in the Old Testament everyone was coming to Moses And the jews We're coming to Moses for their sins.
Remove weakness of Julio in studies reading in Hindi konkani English no mind to learn or revise No capacity to study on his own Weakness in understanding questions n answers cannot frame own sentences to be quick in learning revising writing understanding no concern for mother to understand mother's pain n worries not worrying about exam lessons whatever taught forget remove my burden by making him sensible smart n do on his own n remember everything
Wish he would have said ok to make appointment if it was a long time, or if general confession requested at a mikestone etc., maybe a few times in ones lifetime.....
Could you share a link to that confession app that keeps tracks of my confession? This is very helpful sermon that is rarely talked about in many churches.
I wish my priest would teach like you. I’ve learned so much. However I can’t understand why the same crying baby? I know I’m wrong however when we’re learning it’s hard sometimes to not understand why the mother doesn’t move away from the microphone.
Michele Barnes I agree. It is somewhat distracting. Seems like the same baby crying in ever video. I Can’t help but wonder how those close bye can concentrate. Surely I couldn’t. I always sit up to the very front in church because I know I’m easily distracted. My shortcomings. Blessed are they who are not distracted. What a grace. 😛🙏
Kindly pray for me....I haven't confessed for last 30 years... because .at that time. I was in school std IX. My friend had confessed ...the priest shared it with our hostel sisters (Nuns )....and to our dismay the Sisters started making fun of her quoting whatever she had shared in the confession....We both were aghast.....we drifted away from confession..and church....I got attracted to protestant churches...Got married in it and got lost.... since last month I don't know how I suddenly realised...and seem like coming back...but I know RC church won't accept me as I am married to a protestant... They will tell me to go to them with my husband... change him....and bla bla... I know he is adamant.. won't leave his church...now what......... Please keep me and my family in your prayers....... shin shin hi it’s never too late. RC Church wont ever condemn someone who wishes to come back home. Youre actually not alone, it’s normal to feel discouraged sometimes because nobody’s really perfect. But, it’s our faith in God that matters the most. Try to start going to confession and i believe it would truly help you. God bless!
Shin Shin, ask at the church office for an appointment with the priest and tell him about your situation and ask for his advice. Fast for 40 days eating only bread with olive oil for the conversion of your husband to Catholicism. Don't force him, let Jesus do the job. If 40 days are too much, start by 9 days. Each day pray the Holy rosary to Mother Mary; she is an excellent companion. God bless you. And remember, patience is a virtue.
@@margemohr6771 revealing confessed sins require a letter to the Vatican asking for forgiveness, secrecy of confession is taken VERY seriously by the Church thankfully!
