I agree. Sol should have kept his cool and not pulled his saber. He was wrong. But in the heat of the moment, anyone seeing a person turn into blk smpoke would assume something bad was about to happen. Its easy to say he was wrong after the fact but i get why he did it.
As for the "cover up" I saw some cops on the job. One pulls his gun and kills someone. This is Sgt Al Powell (Die Hard) all over again. Cops uses unnecessary excessive force all the time and get cleared to go back to duty. Sol pulled his side arm and someone died. He may have taken some punishment but ultimately he would have been cleared to return to full duty. Sure there were some bad decisions made on this day. I understand why each of these Jedi would have felt guilt and shame. I get it would have altered their trajectories in life. But I dont see them feeling so badly about this day that it would have affected them to the point of wanting to die
@@Byronic19134 Self-justified but still wrong. Aniseya was going to halt the violence. Is it really not that obvious? Also, when did she become a monster. I must have missed that scene.
yes, this should have been the first episode. Through conversation we "learn" everything we need about these people and why they are doing what they are doing. Its a GREAT set up to the show. But "introducing" us to the characters 7 episodes in is a complete waste for everyone. We have this beautiful set up between Jedi and witches. There is one coven survivor and she is lied to. The episode two pics up 16 years later with the "survivor" killing Jedi. Then we learn it was her long lost sister, That would have been a much better start to this story. Even here, last episode, we are really introduced to Qimir. Some really good things were set up. Then we have this flashback episode. It totally destroys the pacing.
Episode one and seven should have been edited down and presented as the first episode. This episode (7) should have been a Qimir flashback so we can see him as an active Jedi and leaving the order and getting his back scars.
I agree that the show has suffered from a weird assembly of all the pieces like they didn't storyboard it before the production. The continuity is complicated more by the different directors for the segments. Sol was acting on an incomplete picture of the events prior to the ascension. I thought it had potential, but it just got messy.
At this point in the series, I’m more interested in Qimir’s story. They milked this situation with Sol and the witches for 7 episodes to the point I didn’t even care anymore. I had a feeling it wasn’t going to be much of a surprise either. This was basically episode 3 all over again. Very underwhelming series.. and the fact I was excited about this show when they announced it would be through the Sith’s pov. That clearly isn’t what this show is about.
I completely agree with you regarding Ms. Hedland’s blatant plagiarism. An homage is one thing; copying and pasting is quite another. However, I respectfully disagree with you about the means and motivation of Sol and the attack on Aniseya. It is weak justification to say that he thought the mother of the child was going to harm her. From the first second he witnessed the girls under the tree, he instantly developed an unhealthy, and completely inappropriate obsession with possessing Osha for his own. The rationale that he did nothing wrong is nothing more than bantha spit. Your channel, your opinion. I respect it. My opinion is that he was controlled by his greed for a padawan, and Osha in particular. The Jedi (displaying the arrogance that contributed to their final demise), broke into the home of the witches, saw what they had, and coveted it. So he created the circumstances to get what he wanted. How would you respond if the police broke into your home and sought to take your children, simply because they showed the potential of making good cops? I for one, would do whatever was necessary to protect my children, even at the risk of my own life. Yes, Aniseya should have made her intentions clearer. But there were armed intruders seeking to take her children, and she should not have had to pay with her life for having the protective instincts of a mother for her children. It was apparent she loved her children. Instead of using ANY Jedi powers, (like pushing the girl out of the way, or trying to block Aniseya’s magic with his own), he drew his weapon and plunged in into her chest. Sol was not in control of his emotions and the Jedi CREATED the circumstances; and no “greater good” argument justifies his greed and obsessive compulsion to take what was not his.
Great points and I appreciate your perspective 👊🏼 I would add that Mae just told Sol and Indara that they were to be sacrificed. This was obviously misunderstood by Mae, but knowing that, and Sol’s emotional mistakes with Osha, it’s just a recipe for disaster. I guess a finer point would be that there is plenty of blame on both sides.
100% agree , it felt squashed in and mostly pointless , was hoping to see plagues qimir sith etc or Sith Lord revival (obs end of nxt) enjoying for the most part but gotta say at 2.45 am I wast overly blown away
I think they spend too much time on things that aren’t interesting(brendok and replaying an entire episode), and not enough time on things that are(qimir/the Sith)
I'm not sure I agree with your argument. These Jedi break into the witches homes, and that's a mistake, but the witches taking steps to protect themselves is wrong? Really? If people with weapons break into your house unannounced and uninvited, you arm yourself and look for an advantage. The way the witches will go about doing it is up to them, not the home invaders. Even cops need a warrant. And that's why I also can't excuse Sol for killing the mom for simply acting in a way he didn't understand. She was trying to protect her child in her own way. It's not the witches job to act like Jedi. The Jedi werent even supposed to be there in the first place.
It wasn’t their house. It was a place probably like a church. And the witches took steps to protect themselves from what? The Jedi weren’t coming in violent. They were talking. Asking permission to test the girls. The crazy cult witches were always the first to act. It is on them what happened. Edit: I’m not in any way excusing the Jedi’s actions. Only that there is plenty of blame on both sides, but the violence always started with the witches.
@@SWPhoenixSquadron Actually that's exactly what you're doing. "Crazy Cult Witches" indeed. Ask anyone you know with kids what lengths they would go to to protect their children, or their home, before wondering why people shouldn't be worried about uninvited authority figures breaking in. They weren't being violent? I don't wanna surprise you, but forcing your way into someone's sacred space is an act of aggression. That's why the most senior Jedi was very tentative about the whole matter. She knew they were all acting on morally questionable grounds. It's also why when the older and wiser council were consulted, they told them to stand down. And yes, it was their home. They lived there. It's all about perspective. This was a nuanced storyline that showed the Jedi are fallible and there are real dangers to being so sure you're doing the right thing that you completely fail to see things from another perspective. That seems to have completely escaped you in your need to see them as the "good guys". At the end of the day, it's all make believe, but if there is a lesson to be taught here, it's that one should always make room to look at things from a different point of view before jumping to conclusions.
They were there to investigate a vergeance and they found it with the witches so would that not be what their mission switches to anyway? The writing is so awful it makes no sense.
You need to break up the big banks and Media companies and strengthen the SEC or the government regulators. This will break the strangle hold of Bob Iger and Kathleen Kennedy over Star Wars.
The plot in this show is all over the place! It's a total cluster fuck at best! While there are some good parts. The Bad parts totally undo the good parts. The acolyte could've been a great show if you omit the witches, osha and Mae. The show could've been all about Qimir and the Jedi sensing the darkness and hunting it down.
Unfortunately an underwhelming payoff for the build up, I'm wondering if Episode 3 & 7 would have been better off if they were episodes 1 & 2 of the series.
i understand not insulting a 'wild' Wookie because they will rip your arms out.... but this is a jedi. He should have more self control. Unless they are saying that this Jedi goes around hurting people and thats ok. I get friends talking crap and making statements outside of work. I have no issue with friends playing with friends. but that scene was just uncalled for here.
@@ChrisMcCarroll the camp fire scene line was a joke and a nod to the old skool movies. Chewie wasn't gonna rip off arms over a board game, han was just making a joke about how hard core wookies were.
Those witches are idiots Jedi didn't do anything at all the show give more reason why the jedi should stop those who miss use the force for dark intent.
All Disney Star Wars since new triogy are look like crazy, perverted copying of originals: there was a giant space station and we'll do even more, there was the evil empire and we'll have it, another sand planet, another force sensitive orphan, etc. Acolyte doing the same with prequel narratives It is ridiculous🤪🙃 Who df decided that fans do need this shit. Star Wars has always been alive and doesnt ever need to be relaunched
@@SWPhoenixSquadron Comes to mind a comparison to Disneyland. They use SW as an amusement park, where you can meet the copies of you favourite characters and locations.
Criticism of Acolyte is killing your views thanks to the algorithm. Maybe go back to theories and explanations of aspects of the show as opposed to brining yourself down? I like you channel and don't want to see you keep taking the hits. Go the Generation Tech and Screen Crush route... take the high ground.... save your channel and your income.
@@SWPhoenixSquadron I agree, wholeheartedly, however, Google and RU-vid would not agree with that. It is become very clear that they are working with Disney to punish those who are critical of the acolyte . You have a good thing going with this channel. I really enjoy your content, and I want to see you have videos back up in the tens of thousands again. Don’t let this disaster of a show, bring you down. It’s not worth it. If Disney has proven one thing above all others, is they can always make something even worse than the last disaster.
