I really don't think the coven was planning to sacrifice the children. The big thing that gives the Jedi (and Ryan) that impression is what Mae says during her Jedi test. But if you go back and look at what Mother Aniseya says to Mae in episode 3 (when the kids aren't paying attention during their lesson), the statements are much, much more innocuous. Mae just garbled them all up when attempting to repeat them to the Jedi, and they ended up sounding terrible. Any parent can tell you that kids are awful at remembering the things you're trying to tell them!

Final season Clone Wars, Mother Talzin convinced a tribe to sacrifice force sensitive beings into a pit while stealing their force essence. She was going to transfer all of that force essence into her self during a convergence of moons.

I think I remember that one did Mace stab her right in her green cloud? Was Jar Jar flirting with their queen to keep her occupied because her tribe did not trust the Jedi? Except for Ventress’ unfortunate life, Night Sisters while they could be naughty, did not want to rule the galaxy. Night Sisters did not seem to mind handling both sides of the Force, they used whatever served their purpose. According to Sidious, Mother Talzin was not ambitious enough. I wonder if Sidious would like that move after Grievous wiped out the Night Sisters? Were the Jedi frightened by colorful clouds because of the Night Sisters?

A Wookiee who used his or her claws for combat would be labeled a “madclaw” and exiled. Yeah, I think that is why he behaved so irrationally, due to the way his will was altered while under mind-control, but his rushing back to the temple was more of an accidental side-effect of the mind-control, and not an intentional move set-up by the witches. It was an unintended consequence that came back to bite them. It's another instance of a choice based on a noble intention leading to the exact opposite outcome. In this case Mother Aniseya used the mind control to try to protect her coven, but that decision tragically led to all of them being killed.

Midichlorians are stupid but a vergence of the force isn't? Purgil space whales make perfect sense though? Make up your mind. Haters in Hollywood manipulated the press to criticize everything in the Phantom Menace, including the Midichlorians. Weak minded sheep were too dumb to know they were being manipulated and used. In reality we all have mitochondria in our cells. As we reach middle age the mitochondria we have in our cells, the less energy we have and our health worsens. Michondria are microscopic organisms. If you were a dunce in high school, you skipped biology and took earth science 4 times in a row and never learned about the organisms in our cells. Your lack of education makes midichlorians far-fetched.

If you try, I guarantee I'll find an instance of it in legends or canon. This episode tied everything together so well. So many shows drop the ball on making things connect in the end and I was super impressed by how thoroughly the creators of this show have thought things through. Sol struggling to explain himself in the past episodes totally makes sense now that we know he killed Mother Aniseya due to giving in to fear, and that he chose to save Osha over Mae, and that he let Indara talk him into not being transparent with the council, which means he's had to secretly harbor these regrets for 16 years and has never felt absolution. Their “objectiveness” is just them omitting the glaring plot holes, inconsistencies, and obvious production mistakes, while they basically apologize for every one of them the show makes. It’s sad. I could go on. Ryan is full of crap and fluffing up inconsistent and bad writing. How are they going to wrap this up in 30 minutes? How are they going to tie this to TPM? Why did Torbin commit suicide? He did NOTHING wrong! If the witch was just going to give the Jedi Osha then why suddenly turn into a dark ghost IN FRONT OF THE JEDI! i like it when they deviate and try new things in star wars so long as it keep in line with the overall theme, and the song while taking me aback is like a ballad and i like it, so far this is a fresh and enjoyable show

I’m so sick of hearing about how “toxic fans killed Star Wars” no DISNEY KILLED STAR WARS with the years of garbage they have given the fans. These toxic fans just want good content again. And it’s so funny to see shills say we are racist and sexist when everyone likes Leah, Ahsoka, Ventris, ect. Also, do people just forget about Mace Windu? Was Mace getting backlash because of his skin color? No! He was written very well and did a good job.

TY! for making the first comprehensive and well thought out review video I've seen so far! Key word here is the word "CHOICE". If you r confused or angered by this episode or show, what we r really seeing is how these characters choices dictated their futures. As in real life, I'm sure we all have wished we made better choices. Following the story instead of trying to lead it is an important part of watching any series.

Why do you write every word but put “r” for are? Seems like you should make better choices. Also, suicide and self exile are pretty extreme choices for what actually happened. You should do better at following the story.

@@stevereynolds5684 Feeling responsible for the death of like 50 civilians isn't a big enough weight to drive someone to suicide or self exile? Jedi are supposed to be protectors, not cause massacres. If I were responsible for even one person's death it would weigh on me the rest of my life. I can't even imagine how it would feel to be responsible for killing an entire community! If that's not enough to make a person depressed, what is?

Mother Anisaya looks like the "good" one while the Zabrek mother is the "evil" one. So, the good mother dies and the evil mother gets away. I didn't see her dead body in the group. She was able to disperse and transfer herself, so I think she will be in the final episode. Maybe she is in the body of Quimir or the Zabrek works with Qimir. I want to know what Mae was doing and where she was after the coven died. Did she raise herself for several years until she met Qimir, or did the Zabrek mother raise Mae until the mother dies. Mae doesn't mention the Zabrek or anything about what happened in the previous 16 years

After seeing Koril basically weaponize Mae, I think Koril is Qimir (which would be kind of weird after episode 6) or is somehow manipulating Qimir to do her bidding. At the end of episode 5 he puts his cloak over Osha in a comforting way. That's something a mother would do.

I realize the show is trying to illustrate that the Jedi brought about their own eventual downfall through hubris, short-sightedness, and denial, but it seems too silly that so many of them made so many bad decisions on top of bad decisions.

People think that Sol is out of character in this episode, but this is Sol 16 years ago, more reckless, insecure, not yet tempered by the wisdom of experience or restrained by regret. The main issues with the story wasn't what happened, but what they didn't show: Both Sol and Torbin's motivations weren't fleshed out enough. Clearly there was more going on that we needed to know about for both of them. The script alluded to Sol being restless and insecure about not yet having a padawan, and this desperation to prove himself or find meaning as a Jedi (his frustration with the Jedi council for not seeing him as worthy of being a master/having a padawan?) made him make brash choices and false assumptions that suited what he wanted. This would explain how he could have convinced himself, in the urgency and confusion, that the twins' needed protecting from their mother. Torbin clearly had deeper reasons for wanting to return to Coruscant. If they'd only given the audience insight into some personal pull, for example perhaps someone he loved was ill or in trouble back home, and he needed to get back to them. This would further comment on the flaws of the Jedi for making the members of their order conceal their emotional attachments, and the harmful consequences of this. I honestly think that everything else in the episode made sense (the other witches didn't necessarily die from being severed from their spell). But making us fill in the missing pieces ourselves is arguably just as bad writing as writing pieces that don't fit.

I feel like a lot of the hate from this show is coming from people who just don’t like Star Wars anymore. Maybe they grew out of it or whatever but I’m really enjoying this show with my girlfriend

It’s a poorly written show with horrible pacing. This episode and 3 should have been trimmed and combined into one 45 minute episode. Nothing shown in 7 would have changed anything if people saw what was revealed here before seeing episodes 4-6. They would still question why Torbin was suicidal and Kelnacca was in self exile. It wasn’t made clear here why they contained so much guilt they couldn’t just tell the council what happened.

😂 no it's because this isn't Star Wars. Jedi aren't emotional or evil liars and don't take Padawans blaming the kids sister for killing the parents . Jedis don't off themselves for doing nothing wrong. They don't kidnap children because they just want to go home . 90% of the fan base doesn't like this show . The only creators that aren't hating this show are the creators that won't ever admit shows are bad and get to go to premiers

Mother Aniseya decided to let go of Osha yes, but the rest of the coven was clearly not happy about that and seemed to be focused on what the twins meant for the future of their coven, more than what was right for the twins themselves. It's quite possibly a metaphorical sacrifice, in that the girls have to give up any potential life away from the coven, but it might be more sinister than than. I'm okay with this being left a mystery though, as that's what makes Sol and the other Jedi's decisions so difficult, they aren't 100% sure how much danger the girls are in.
