Acoustic Vocal Booth Review by Booth Junkie. AVB63 for voice over home recording studio.

Great Thank You to Mike for this review of the AVB63 ( Acoustical Vocal Booth for Voice over recording at home).
To get clear recording at home or office it is important to get rid of sound reflections such as echo and reverberations in the room.
Mobile Acoustical Vocal booth presents and easy and affordable solution to do that.

Couple of comments to what Mike said in the video:
1. yes the Acoustical vocal booths are not designed top be soundproof, this is why we called it “Acoustic vocal booth” because they take care of sound reflections. In a quite room this is all you need. The Acoustic Vocal booth will also reduce the humming noise by about 8-10 dB.

2. If you need to block out sound then the Soundproof(er) Sound Booth is the answer.

I was going to get the ISO Vox to help my Neumann TLM 49 sound better in my bedroom, but this is miles better! I'm definitely getting this in the summer. 😊

How come your voice sound so deep ? What processing you use for that ? Preamps ? Eq ? I have the same microphone from Rode but the voice is not that deep. Thank you for the video Sir.

Yes, it sure does . It also reduces outside noise by about 10dB

I bought one of the smaller version of this, a little tricky to set up but the extra floor mart they sell (from China) I bought smells so bad gives headache. I am writing company again on it.

Yes Eri, we discussed it. the Floor mats are not part of this product and are sold separately. I am not sure what to say about the smell, because just now i went upstairs an smelled the mats and did not smell anything. It doe snot mean that you would not smell something. As any petroleum product there is a "new car smell" in the beginning, but it should go away. The Soundproofing floor mats are part of the Sound booth SPB series, which is much more dense and airtight , but we never had any complaints about the smell from the mats. i would suggest to air it out. or cover with a carpet inside the booth.

@@Vocalboothtogo Hi yes thanks for getting back to me so soon. I spoke to someone in chat a week ago and was advised to air it out which I did on a few nice days and its better but the smell is still a bit strong. I guess I will have to go buy a small rug/carpet for it. Maybe my case is isolated but I didn’t bother to check or post about it in forums just here and privately to the website.

@@Vocalboothtogo Its been almost a month and I put a rug over it but when in the booth it still gives me a headache and some itchy skin. I know in email VBTG CS said it might be the glue between the vinyl. Is this also rubber, someone recommended cleaning rubber with milk if there's rubber. I am asking around to see if anyone else had issue and solution. Someone said the strong peppery smell could be mold but it was new and never got it wet. It had a strong smell right from the upacking.

Eri: if this is a problem, could you simply take them out? Like I said before it is really hard for us to replicate the problem. Because we do not smell the odor. I have no other customers ever mentioned this issue. Try to remove the mats. Ventilate the booth to make sure the smell is gone. May be use use UV light, because it will disinfect and remove all remaining smell. ( make sure to air the resulting ozone out). And see if you feel better without the mats.

@@Vocalboothtogo That's weird that only my mat has a strong bad peppery smell. Well, it's ending up costing me more than I want to pay, already put a $50 rug on it and not sure how much a UV light you're recommending is going to cost. I already spent over a grand for the booth, including $99 or so for the extra mat. I guess I can just remove the mats but I feel you sold me mat with some issue. I know you say no other customer has complained but I still have a product I cannot use. I just asked in Reddit about it to see if anyone has this issue. Maybe someone on RU-vid might, it can't be just I got a fluke one but perhaps. I did come across someone who had issue with the curtain smell but you already addressed that old problem in your Q&A on your site.

Can't find this size on their site anymore. 3x3, 4x4 and 5x5 but no 3x6. Thinking of the 5x5 One question. Did it achieve the level of acoustic treatment needed for VO work? I kind of expected you to test that.

So I made a moving blanket/pvc booth, I still have reverb could my speakers be up to loud and my mic is picking it up? I have a cheap USB condenser mic. Can I use reaper to adjust it ti talk on Discord

hi What blankets did you use? "Moving blankets" are not good for sound absorption. If you can e-mail me a close up picture of your blankets i will be able to tell you what it is.
