I think the F hole electric bass would be the better option in most situations. The full acoustic bass is a bit niche. The magnetic pickups in the F hole electric are easier to deal with than the piezo electronics in the acoustic bass. The ergonomics are also better and it won’t feedback as easily on loud stages. The acoustic bass offers a little more volume unplugged. But most people don’t think the body is adequate for projecting a good deep bass tone anyway. So you’ll usually have to plug it in and then you’re stuck with that piezo sound.
I have two of those little Martin acoustic basses like the one you showed in the acoustic bass example pic. They are awesome little 24” scale acoustic basses that are both loud and sound really great. They are about the size of a small acoustic guitar, and can have really low action if setup correctly.
The thing I don't get is, why do almost all electric/acoustic basses come with a piezo pickup? FWIW, I have one with a magnetic pickup, which I think sounds sooooo much better than either an ABG with piezo or a hollow-body with magnetics. Just my opinion, which I admit is based on limited experience.
