Join us for some Acro Yoga Basics! Take it slow as we move through Bird and a Backbend.
Please subscribe if you like the class, as it helps us so much to keep sharing.
Take a few minutes with a partner and see if you can work on these couple of simple moves.
Have fun, play around! Would suggest giving yourself plenty of room to fall (i.e don't do this near any furniture, maybe in a park with nice soft grass) and always have an exit strategy! Make sure to stay in constant communication with your partner and be prepared to fall on each other and have some fun!

Thanks to the dishes it feels like home :) Some ideas to try from another acrobeginner: * if you are a not-so-strong base, try not only keeping your hands over shoulders, but also keeping your arms completely straight (so only the flyer bends his arms) - it's a lot easier! * as a flyer you might try entering into the Bird holding your hands behind you (so you don't grasp base's hands) - it's more challenging but builts more trust and confidence in both of you :)

Acro yoga is hard to find where I live now. But I love it! I with I could do more, but I need a teacher & a partner. You make great teachers!

Thanks so much! That was great. Liked how you cued us through multiple moves and gave options! Hope next time the chicks can leave the dishes for later.

My friend and I have recently got into acro yoga. My friend weighs less than me and it seems harder for her to lift me up when she is the base. While I can almost lift her up. I don't know what we can do so we can both lift each other up...

be sure you can comfortably hold your legs at a 90 degree angle to the floor, keeping the legs completely straight. We are going for "stacking the joints" meaning your hip will be directly under your knee, directly under your ankle, directly under your friend's center of gravity in the pelvis. If you don't have this alignment holding someone up gets 10X harder. Work you your own hamstring flexibility and quad strength in some of our regular classes.
