Where I work, yes it's about the food but it's also about the atmosphere. It's a company, not a singular pizza place but I like to toss pizza both because it's fun and because it keeps customers amused 🤷‍♂️ personal preference I guess!

Usually it’s over proofing that causes the gluten strands to become weak and tear. AND tearing the dough is part of it. I make pizzas for my job and I rip dough all the time. 🤷🏻‍♀️ happy pie making.
