Perfect timing, John! I'm painting a garden scene now and having a hard time with the leaves of some plants... and my grass doesn't look right. I think it's too neat. This video is a big help... as always. Keep those videos coming, please! Maraming salamat!

After painting the very first long grass and then painting the lighter green grasses, you grabbed your flat brush. You were looking for a word to describe the tip of the brush. They usually call that the "chiselled edge". I'm not sure if I am spelling it correctly but the tip there with the flat bristles is called the chiselled edge. I just wanted to share that with you. Hope that helps.

Try Chroma Atelier Acrylics. works just like oils longer open time can reopen to paint more, larger tubes than others. blends like butter. when completely dry you can reopen to paint again. there are video's on youtube telling about these amazing acrylics. you will never go back.

does it matter which red, blue or yellow that is used? In case we don't have the colors you suggest to use in this painting?

It's okay as long as the color is almost like the primary's... you can use taloudine red, ultramarine blue and hanza yellow. Anyway you can use any colors as long as you get the right combination for greens. You can experiment and have some fun on discovery.

I hope this will help you. The playback speed of any RU-vid video can be adjusted by pressing the 3 dots in the upper right hand side of the video. It can be slowed down or sped up

I really like how the plants turned out and it was good to see how you painted them. Adding more different kind of plants to my artworks (I paint digitally not with acrylic) are my goal now becuase I used to paint just simple grass and some variety would look better, so your video came at the right time for me.

John magne Lisondra It is different to paint digitally but the concept itself is the same. So how you explained to leave gaps and space between the leaves for example will not change. :)

doing it second time, for practice. I am using plain paper, so colours blend into the background, dont stand out. but, just for practicing the strokes for the grasses, it is a good idea. I cannot use art paper each time. ...I am playing the video on half the speed, and you sound so funny, john..hahaha. and, you are a good teacher

Just this morning, I stumbled across your wonderful videos, while looking for things to help me on a large painting I'm doing. Your techniques are similar to mine, only much more refined than I have been doing. This video of which I'm posting under, has shown me how to fine tune and expand what I had been doing. Mr. Lisondra, thank you so much for the works you have here. We need more acrylic artists in this style and technique helping others trying to learn. you're welcome... My #7 flat brush is best buy in local bookstore. You can find another brush with different number but with the same width in bristle. my #7 is more or less a haft inch synthetic brush.

this is the first painting video that was slow enough to really understand the strokes. Also on the flat brush the word you were looking for is chiseled edge, the the tip of the flat brushes.
