A look at my two techniques for painting stars. I've used both across various paintings over the years and now you can use the techniques as well.
Ran into some audio issues during editing in this video, if you miss a section of my narration let me know, I can clarify for you.

New subscriber here.Hi. Your technique for stars looks easy,but you’re an artist. I’ll see what kind of a mess I make.

This is perfect for what I needed to create “night sky like” paper for collage. The Jackson Pollock streak is a legit comet😉

Every time I try these sorts of techniques, I get lots of streaky squiggle shapes rather than dots. Any tips?

Your paint likely isn't thinned enough, or not mixed enough. This usually happens when you get strings of unmixed higher viscosity paint within your flicks and flings. A lower viscosity paint like an ink or high flow to start can also work to eliminate the problem.

Great video but the sound seems off - different from your previous videos. Sounds tinny... I don't think it's at my end.

As I listed in the description box I had some issues with the audio. I did the best I could without having to reshoot the entire thing.

Thanks for the quick reply! Obviously I didn't read the description box - I'm just going through watching all the videos, and finding them very helpful. And I just 'discovered' that the finger spatter method makes great wave spatter against cliffs where the waves hit - perfect final touch! Barb

probably the flick method with a thicker paint, but be prepared to be covered in the extra splatter and put down a drop cloth.

making splatters is not painting stars. you can not do this on a painting that has a scenery not useful
@cinderblockstudios

Your opinion...all depends on the style and what you're going for in the piece.

@@cinderblockstudios i would title the video make splats on your paintings that looks like stars when I went here i thought it was going to show you make stars false title
@cinderblockstudios
@cinderblockstudios 3 года назад
@@lauramolecavage The first technique is more realistic and is what dozens of painters use to make stars. If you find a better technique though more power to you.

I did it fine on a painting with scenery. Just cover up where you dont want spatter and it works perfectly. Any idiot could figure that out 😐
