[Act 1] Solo Warlock - Raiding Crypt and Rescuing Withers - Honour Mode

I'm going to try to speed through the Crypt. It goes well up until the last fight before Withers, due to the AI deciding they are too scared to run through their own Fog Cloud. Oh well!

"Rescuing Withers" I dont think this dude in need of rescuing. And by the way this is realy good use for the Mask of the Shapeshifter

Withers was trapped in that stuffy coffin...so yes he was rescued. Coffins are bad for the sinuses after all.

Hate times like at 4:48, where the game decides you're close enough to get disadvantage (adjacent in DND rules) but not close enough to make an opportunity attack when she runs away (also adjacent). Really could use a bug fix there

Loving the videos... I'm still new to the game and learning, but I can't figure out how in the videos I watch people have so many potions of healing so early??

I usually buy every potion I see in the start and loot a lot of containers

Ugh, that 1v1 with the Skeleton Warrior in Withers room took so much longer than it should have! That's the thing with this game (and DND in general) at low levels, there's just really not much to do but your basic attacks and hope they hit. I find that a lot of Honour mode runs can end within level 1-3 because of your severe lack of options, and relying on dice rolls! ... Or maybe I'm just unlucky! lol.

Yea, it's hard to keep this part of the early levels interesting. I just went for a fast clear as I could. The high AC skeleton is just a pain in the butt

On my play through there I got teleported to the room those guys fell into when I hit the brick to kill em all. Fortunatly I was able to get out because of sancuary but that would have ended the run on any other build.

Just curious but the spinning weapon animation - is that a mod or some setting in BG3?

I play without mods :). Not sure which animation you’re referring to though but it’s the base game at least

@@FriendlyLich every time you equip a melee weapon - your character does a spinning animation. Good to know its in the base game!

Update: Apparently different races have different weapon animations and elves swing their weapons in combat! I never noticed since i only play tieflings

So the last class you leveled in you use its spellcasting ability?

Exactly. But if you've already got levels in a class it won't turn back to it. For example, if you go Warlock -> Cleric -> Warlock then it will still use WIS. But Cleric -> Warlock -> Warlock it will use CHR

Too bad Minor Illusion doesn't work (on PS5). Two things happen when I use it. First, it only last for 0.1 second. Second, I get agro the moment the Illusion disappears. And yes, I am hiding out of sight. Think I'm done with this game.

Oh wow that sucks to hear :/. Sometime it disappears for me right away but it’s rare. Even more weird that you get into combat from it (unless it’s aggressive npcs from the start of course, which I assume is not the case).
