Here is act two of the September 21, 2003 preview performance of the original Broadway production of "Little Shop of Horrors" at the Virginia Theatre in New York.
After the failed Florida try-out earlier in the year, the show was totally scrapped and reproduced from the ground up, with a new director (Jerry Zaks), new choreography, new set design, and a new cast. Virtually the only element to survive the move to Broadway was the casting of Hunter Foster (fresh off of the musical URINETOWN) in the role of Seymour Krelborn. (Though, according to Foster in Stars in the House "Suddenly Seymours" live stream, he did have to re-audition for the role.)
The cast also features Trisha Jeffrey as Crystal, Carla J. Hargrove as Ronnette, DeQuina Moore as Chiffon, Kerry Butler as Audrey, and Rob Bartlet as Mushnik, as well as Douglas Sills as Orin (and others), Michael-Leon Wooley as the voice of Audrey II, and Martin P. Robinson, Anthony Asbury, Bill Remington, and Matt Vogel as puppeteers for Audrey II.

@@SuperMarioJustin4 The plant was originally designed and performed for the off-Broadway stage, and for this production, by Martin P. Robinson. He's a veteran Sesame Street puppeteer, performing Telly Monster and Mr. Snuffleupagus, and also designed and performed some of the characters from Nick Jr.'s Allegra's Window, amongst other projects.

Good lord, the use of the hydraulic lift in the finale is the coolest thing EVER. I’m so happy to finally be able to watch this production! Thank you!

BTW, the plant isn't truely a puppet, but its actually a machine. In 38:06, you can see the plant extending across the audience, and terrorise them,

Well I hope it's not as cool as this one, because this one is controlled by hydraulics, and it has branch hands shown in the scene where he grabs audrey

Saw both Broadway and Miami versions in person and I preferred Miami for many different reasons, but the finale there was much more impactful in a smaller theatre. The plant got a lot closer to the edge of the stage and it felt as if it was practically in the first rows of the audience! The Broadway house was just to big, IMO.

Again I have to say that the work that they put together was really good I mean the puppetry on the plant was definitely impressive both on Broadway and the movie. I love both the happy and the other ending that ended with the plant taking over the world in the movie. I also love this ending to Broadway as well especially when the plant burped up the glasses.
@GiantSquid2319

Well, the plant is also a machine controlled by hydraulics, you can tell in 38:06 because of how he was extending

the plant is an allegory for greed. he gives in and feeds it against his better judgement and ends up literally and metaphorically being consumed by it

38:08, you can see the plant lifting, that's because theirs massive hydraulic cylinders in the neck of the plant, so their are 2 people moving the plant, one is in the head, and one is in the body
