I'm glad to see the computer portion get its due time in the spotlight! When I had an Actimates Barney I never knew that the doll could react to the videos. My childhood memories with the doll are basically stand alone mode and Fun on Imagination Island
I didn't have the TV Pack or PC Pack as a kid, leaving me with just stand alone mode. But in 2019, The Barney Vault's upload of the 1998 ActiMates Introductory Video inspired me to upload more ActiMates compatible content with audio from ActiMates Barney, Arthur and D.W. as well as the ActiMates Teletubbies respectively. Thus, my Microsoft ActiMates Showcase channel was born in 2020. I uploaded ActiMates Barney content on my The Barney Collector channel in 2019, but in 2020, most of that has been moved to the Microsoft ActiMates Showcase, except for any extra copies that I have or acquired of these tapes.
Even if some think this idea is unnecessary, we need to spread the word out to 90s PC collectors who'd be willing to capture gameplay footage of Fun on Imagination Island with the right specs for their Win95/98 system to run that program. The historical value of this purple rex's leap into PC gaming just can't stay unrecognized. #SaveFunOnImaginationIsland
I remember seeing videos of the Actimates Barney. It's very fascinating and I have wanted to get this guy for a very long time. then, in Christmas 2023, I did along with the TV pack albeit the one from Teletubbies with the radio cartridge but at the very least, it's really awesome to look at even the transmitter and tape from 1999 maybe someday I will get the introductory video from 1998. Also I remember the Actimates Showcase channel led by none other than the Barney collector and I enjoyed the showcases that he did including Arthur and Teletubbies while I do love Arthur as a kid, but for Teletubbies I didn't care for them but I did warmed up to the show for a little bit. Anyways, this showcase channel encourage me to showcase Barney, interacting with the TV, particularly the Barney episodes of the show I have two VHS recordings that contains Lyrick era Barney and I have uploaded them onto internet archive, however for the Actimates Barney himself since I don't have a lot of the budget to have some professional equipment like a microphone and such I would have to work on what I have although buying a multi plugger Isn't a problem because I do want to get it someday just so I won't have to bring the TV pack to nanny's house Time after time and time again. The Actimates Barney is definitely is a favorite. I love playing with him and I enjoy having him interacting one of my Barney VHS tapes.
I had the ActiMates Barney and the TV pack with the video and others, but Barney didn’t say “Let’s watch the show together!” because he’s not connected to TV transmitter or anything else. He just play games and sing songs. But I am not a fan of Teletubbies since I’m neutral to this show. I like Barney more than Teletubbies. Thank you, anyway.
I Remember Playing The Trilogy at the Public Library and they're alot of fun to play. The Animation looks great as it looks more like Barney and Friends The Animated Series in the form of PC Games. The FMVs of the Episodes and VHSs looks Amazing for Entertainment while playing. i have the ActiMates Barney followed by ActiMates TV Pack (1999 Release) and ActiMates Barney PC Pack that came packaged with Barney's Fun on Imagination Island, can't play it so that gets to be a shelf display for the collection. Barney's Stupendous Puzzle Fun 1997 VHS is a fun Tape to watch with the ActiMates Barney, even better than playing Fun on Imagination Island PC Game. Some Barney Tapes i have are ActiMates Barney Compatible from 1997-1999
I usually played with the ActiMates Barney toy and that’s amazing to me. He talks when I squeeze his right hand or his left hand. Barney sings when I squeeze his middle toe to sing the song. I usually squeezed his two middle toes to make him sing all the songs!! And when I squeeze his two hands, he can sing the clean up song!!
I turned a year old on August 3rd 1997 when Actimates Barney came out. So I’m considered a Baby Millennial because I was the 1996 millennial generation that was the last generation of millennials
@@amberjacobs1996I had ActiMates Barney since it was fun!! I saw him with the video. When I was playing with him, he just talk and used the hyphens in the sentences when batteries are low.
