I've literally watched like 7 videos on RU-vid explaining the same exact thing. Yours is the ONLY one that really breaks it down so that even a child can understand. THANK YOU
The ABSOLUTE best video on RU-vid explaining action potential. You are literally the best teacher ever for simplifying an otherwise complicated process. Thank you x a million!
Thank you for such a great video! The Q&A portion at the end is so helpful for both making sure I truly understand it, and for coming back as a review to make sure I STILL understand and know it. Also, thank you for fixing the subtitles, it really helps the hearing impaired and deaf med students in the world! Quiz starts at 16:44
You are helping me so much! I've been feeling so stupid in a class full of smart kids and now I just realize I needed it explained in a clearer way. I wish very Professor spoke in such clear cut terms as you. Thank you and you can tell by the comments you are literally helping people from all around the world. You should get an award. You make the student world a better place.
I am a student at another University. No matter how many lectures I sat through or how many videos my professor posted, I was struggling with this. This video helped me understand it a lot better. Thank you for making this video, I appreciate it. Hopefully now I can pass my exam in 2 days. You have saved me!
Dr. Hartung. You are the best teacher I have found so far. Your students are blessed to have a teacher like you and thank you for sharing your knowledge with us on RU-vid.
I MUST say I completely agree with the previous comment. Thank you for explaining this so thoroughly and in such a simple manner that even a child can understand it. I have also watched several other u tube videos and they all talk really fast and are so detailed that I get lost in the process. I appreciate you talking slowly so that my brain can grasp and comprehend the process and also for reviewing over the whole process again to instill the process firmly in my mind.
This is the only RU-vid presentation on action potentials that I actually understood. I'm looking at all your youtube lectures. Thanks for communicating this very difficult step by step. Kudos
Thank you so much. after watching different videos for weeks, this is the first explanation that makes sense. I will watch this over and over till I can explain it myself. Thank you
Thankyou so much Mr Hartung, you are truly amazing and have really helped me out in my preparation for my exam all the way here in Australia! Thankyou so much for all your kind help :)
Loved how you first explained the whole theory and then asked questions regarding it.The fact that i could answer all your questions correctly made me happy .Thankyou so much.
thank you so much. this is so helpful and I love the way you pause to let me think about it and figure things out, you're not rushing and it's just perfect. thank you again!
Thank you so much! I'm so lucky to have found this video. Your explanation was fantastic. I also enjoyed the questioning at the end & reviewing. Explanation was so well done I was able to reproduce the graph & diagram and talk myself through the action potential process. Just have to repeat it a few times to get it into longer term memory! Thanks again!
Thank you so much for this! I took a test and had to explain this and I didn't do too well explaining so I went on here to try and understand it, this was so helpful!
Professor, I really understand your scope of teaching. I have a test next week I just couldn't get it until I watch your video. thanks so much may God bless you always. I will definitely look at all your videos I am sure I will learn much more by looking at them.
Professor thank you soo much , i have taken bio, anatomy , pathophisyology, ,microbiology, molecular cell biology , genetics and durigh all this classes i came across action potentioal and non of my professors explained this topic as you did thank you soo much loved your videos and please if you can upload some videos from biochemistry class i am taking that class niw and there is not so many videos available thank again professor
everybody saying "i bet you had studied so many notebooks like a parrot to get into med school" *me just watching Ren Hartung videos with my manual open and having fun knowing that i have more knowledge than my competitors*
Thank you so much for this video, it has given me a much better understanding of action potentials and a bit more confidence to write my assessment on what an action potential is.
Thank you so much, I truly understand each step, and how the gates respond to each step. I wish you were teaching at Antelope Valley College in Lancaster, Ca👍🏽👏😃
Lol thank you very much! :( I'm very troubled in understanding electrophysiology for medicine but this video gave me an idea all about it! I finally understand it i'm more of a visual kind of learner. :D
This is a very nice video. It is very helpful and you make understanding of this information real easy. I really like your quiz section at the end. I am looking forward to watching your future videos.
Thank you for this video! It is extremely helpful for understanding action potential in a simpler way. I feel more confident about this topic now as I am studying for my molecular biology exam in college.
Sir ur lecture compelled me to say that u are the great intelligent talented sole May Almighty bless u with more n more knowledge and success Thanks for being an angel in my thus time of difficulty
i really understood what yo have taught with simple explanations with the help of illustrations which really helped a lot.thank you sir for endless effort in helping a number of students out there in getting this concepts. Vinaka and stay blessed.
This was incredibly helpful! Reading from my textbook and trying to understand is so much more difficult, this video helped me so much. Thank you so much
Brilliantly explained once again! And I love your little recap after the theory! Very well done! Even though I am learning in my mother tongue, Romanian, the terms are similar, and helps me understand much better than in my own language! I would rather give my admission exam in English😂 Anyway, thank you for the time you invested in these videos!
Thank you for explaining this material. You explained it to offer me an epiphany of perspective. When that cell voltage switches quickly after being stimulated in 3:18, it is essentially pushing a potential energy (voltage) outward, which is a type of emitted wave. The little thing is "communicating" or "responding." Is that a characteristic of basic small life? At 10:35, suppose the inhibition gate did not work or were delayed AND the repolarization potassium channel 11:50 did not open or were delayed, would the voltage signal spike go a little higher and saturate, following a steady state limit over time (somehow proportional to incoming stimulus energy?), or would the signal voltage continue to spike higher and higher in amplitude? The potassium channel seems almost analgous to the dampening part of a mass-spring system? More powerful potassium channels would decrease the slope of the depolarization angle (and maybe even round out the peak)? Last question, does ANY stimulus above threshold voltage, trigger the cell 2:32, or does the stimulus need to have some characteristic voltage frequency above threshold?
That was really very helpful sir!!! It would be really great if you provide lectures regarding patch clamp technique (Voltage clamp, current clamp and patch capacitance). Because, your lectures are very easy to understand.
Thank you so much sir. This video is so good that it literally explained me something in 25 mins which I couldn't understand for the last few weeks! :)
