Thanks for this post. I was privileged to see Aaron L Mattes in Sarasota FL a few years ago and last year his son to experience Activated Isolated Stretching. I am so grateful for the difference it made in the quality of my life! I went to see him with a problem for my feet experienced since a car accident then years ago. Instead, Aaron started at the top of my head and worked his way down stretching this way down to my feet gently over the period of several hours. It was quite painful but manageable. I am not ashamed to say that I used Lamaze breathing to help me manage the pain. I even had emotional releases during the process of stretching related to various traumas. Many people's lives might be improved if more massage therapists learned these techniques of Activated Isolated Stretching. I often wonder if the massage therapists I saw might have helped me more after my car accident had they known these specialized techniques.
Hi, Can AIS help with glute amnesia? I am a sprinter and I never feel my glutes and hamstrings, only my quads are sore. This is not optimal since the glutes should drive the body forward, the glutes being the larges and most powerful muscles of the body. Can AIS make me glute dominant ? Thank you
"You can only be strong in a Range of Motion you have" (duh, right?) AIS can (likely and easily) provide you with access to your own glutes! Additionally, "driving down with the big toe and walking barefoot" as suggested by @marcusregino is great advice, but 1st you have to access your glute ROM! I have The Mattes AIS Glute Stretch on my channel! (who doesn't need that one? careful to be on my actual channel - others have put my video on their channels :/) & YOU CAN GET THE WHOLE SERIES OF MATTES STRETCHING FROM MATTES SITE :)
Hi Tom, Thank you very much for your feedback🙌🏻 Please make sure to subscribe or for more information please visit our website nielasher.com/blogs/video-blog
*We use 0-16 OUNCES of assistance to go gently past "end-feel" **_WHILE_** the client is engaging the muscles that perform the opposite action - we assist 1 & 1/2 - 2 seconds; return to starting position. Repeat 8-10 reps 2-3 sets* . *I teach Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) seminars for professional education for Aaron Mattes. I provide Continuing Education credit with NCBTMB & ACE & Mattes :)* @khyatimaheshwari845 @tytoups237 @sybilvazquez3339 yes, AIS can activate tissues @incorectulpolitic & hamstrings are usually AISed from the side (maybe he's trying to not block the camera?) there are 6 distinct AIS hamstring stretches to cover ALL the angles & actions of the hamsstrings! @sacredsounds4234
