This is currently on sale - 25% off! Think I'll get it. Matt, do you still use Rex free textures (featured in another of your videos) in Active Sky Next?
Does this do the same thing as X-Plane's weather engine, or is it more advanced? Additionally, does ASN use default weather textures or add its own? Am I going to need to add REX in order to get it looking that good?
Hey Matt! I have a request. If you do get REX Texture Direct which just released about 5 hours ago please do a video on it similar to this one about ASN. Thanks in advance, and do you think its worth it to buy all of the REX Direct products or to just buy ASN? :)
I like the wing flex but at certain points yo use the wing flexing way too much..I don't think the change/flex in the wing is so quick but it should be gradual
Hey there. Awesome video! I like the extreme smoothness of your fsx! How do you get that SO smooth? Could you upload your fsx.cfg somewhere? That would really help me! Have got an 3770k @ 4.7 and still having some issues with the frames.. Thanks man! Keep ot up! Lo e your channel!
I don't think so. Active Sky 2012 ugraded them, but if u don't have that then the default textures will be used. You could search 'HDEV2 FSX' on simviation or a similar site, and download them, and these are a great photo real texture set. Alternatively you could use REX soft clouds, highly recommended by me! I use REX, but still have the HDEV2 cirrus textures, because they look amazing. Happy simming 😀
Just in general... does ASN has more effect on the FPS when on 'normal/default' than when REX is on 'normal/default'? Lost my laptop, so got a new one. i used to have REX on medium settings and it worked absolutely fine... but if ASN saves me some frames i would deffo chose that one over REX. So which one would you recommend for me?
I can maybe answer this as your setup might be a bit like mine and if not you can compare - i5 laptop 2.5 ghz, 6gb Ram, 2gb dedicated graphic card. Using FSX steam with Rex textures and Orbx scenery, and the default scenery, I typically get 40-50 FPS with the default Cessna. If I get Active sky to drive the weather also I drop to 30-35 FPS. Still ok but I don't see me flying the PMDG aircraft with my normal graphic settings. A definite hit in FPS but it does seem worth it for the incredible weather you see. Bearing in mind I am using default cloud draw distance and so on. I could decrease, and probably will for improved FPS.
Yep, I use REX 4 TD, and ASN and it works perfectly, although i might be a bit laggy to a few people, with my desktop, i can run it with anout 30-40 frames spare! Desktop Specs: Intel Core I-7 5960X Quan Nvidia GTX titan X (all four on dualSLI) 1800 watt+ Power Supply
SkyGaming How did you get SLI working with P3D? I thought Lockheed were waiting for nvidia to make a proper SLI profile, as there is currently no proper scaling?
HannoverSpotter BUy Rex 4 textures and ASN. I used REX with OD and sometimes it caused troubles and it could not create limited visibility. when there was visibility under 5statute miles it always set 10+. No haze, no fog etc.
Hi Matt Davis, me english bad because me is Russia. Me bought TU-144M (Concordski) and ILS landing try. But me no understand Concordski land how? Me very frustrated. Me landing crashing always. As result, me crying in corner of my bedroom. Tutorial can make you? Tutorial make you, you me help. pleaase
Make sure you are landing at 156 knots/180mph/290km/h and pull up 3° up - (На русском) Убедитесь, что вы посадку в 156 узлов / 180 миль в час / 290 км / ч и потянуть вверх 3 градусов вверх
I was considering buying this until I saw this video. ASN is no better than the rest. Check @ 11:37 in the video (start at 11:34) and see clouds disappear instantly. Makes all flight sims look hokey. When is anyone going fix that problem.
