What a superb video, and what a place Old Oak used to be, I visited many times but only took photographs, the staff there were always helpful, the place is sadly missed, a legend of a depot in steam and diesel days, thanks for sharing...Bill

The last time I visited Old oak Common sheds was in ................................1958. I went regularly in the late '50s, with friends, to worship at the great G.J.Churchward Cathedral containing four turntables and we wandered among the Kings and the Castles, the Halls, Granges, Counties and Manors from all over the GWR system. Even an interloper from that shed just up the road where the Patriots, Coronation class and black 5s gathered. Lots of little pannier tanks, tanner oners, and even a mighty class 9F or two .Breathing in the fumes of coal, steam and oil was for a 12 year old trainspotter like being high. And the most amazing thing was the staff were mostly friendly old guys.

Its long gone all this , just the tapes to look at , its hard coming to any conclusion but now i see things had to change , there has been investment in rolling stock locomotives and infrastructure . yes there is not so much freight , but it could go through a resurge once again , but i do miss the br locos there are still some around , but i would love to see 2 RFD 47s again clagging up Wandsworth Road , or the 33s on the Marcons or Bretts ....thanks ....ian.

Great video of Old Oak! I have recently created a virtual tour of Old Oak Common as a historical reference before it closes at the end of the year and was wondering if I could place a link to this video in the tour as it would be great as a reference to the depot. You would be credited obviously. The tour can be seen here: createdbyrich.com/old-oak-common-virtual-tour/
