Actor and Filmmaker REACTION and ANALYSIS - LAY "LIT" OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO 

*GASP* AHHHHHH!!! WHAAAAAT!?!? Lay is from my ULT group EXO!!! I was so not expecting to see this anytime soon but holy crap am I excited!!! The cinematography on this is amazing! You are going to appreciate this sooo much. He spent so much of his own money (millions) on this video!! He really cares so much about his craft and his re-telling of this story was wonderful! I cannot wait to hear what you thought!! 😍💕🥰

Lay is also an actor. His new drama premiered this week in China - "Crime Crackdown". I read that there were 100 million viewers for the show - that just blows my mind.

To more apreciate the mv you should understand the meaning of it, actualky haters made *Lay* very angry and this is a war declaration, the interpretation to this mv is that this is a message to the haters that hurts him a lot ,he is surrounded by haters (and is alone) he is a lit (white lotus: the haters call him lit "in Chinese culture it mean someone who is pure in appearance, but opposite inside, so in the lyrics he confirms i'm the lit "white lotus" even my blood is white) he is the king (the king of music in China), music is his arena (so the fight has to be there) , the dragon (those who support and love his work) will fight for him and protect him, his music or his mission is not to fight the hatters but to promote Chinese culture Also there is another dimention related to a true story and the site where he is filming this mv, but i m not Chinese so i don't know about this historical things. Lay has always been my favorite from EXO. He was with them from the beginning. He is LIT the Lotus Flower. Very symbolic in Chinese culture. He is very hands on in his music production. He's so cool and very talented.

There's actually a whole back story to the mv based on a Chinese legend (Xiang Yu, I believe). It took over 6 months to film and produce! Lay uses a lot of traditional images and instruments in his work and is involved in every part of the creative process.

Oh Lit!!! Unexpected but SO much appreciated!!! Maybe full on Exo reaction next? Lay is phenomenal and also super humble. There is a video of him reacting to people reacting to Lit and he is such a sweetheart!

I am soooo happy you've seen this. There is a dance video which is awesome. This MV is distinctly Chinese. You're not the first reactor to compare this to Daechwita but they're very different cultures and have their own architecture. The location is very Chinese. I believe they used Peking Opera in the opening scene which has a unique sound. I think it might have been the location for the MV From Yesterday - by 30 seconds to Mars, with Jared Leto. I believe this was at least partially financed by Lay and was one of the most expensive videos filmed in China. Very cool and epic. Just a note... Lotus's are born from mud. They struggle out of adversity to bloom and are beautiful.

Lay spent his money around $1.4 million US dollar and was done in half of year. This MV filming in Zhejiang Hengdian World Studio (the largest studio in the world) same as Mulan movie and involved more than 100 supporting actor. You should watch their the behind the scene to know Lay hard Work. He produce, composed, music director, choreographer, music lyric, etc.

Lay is amazingly talented. I like that you're starting to branch out a bit. I wish western artist would make videos this artistically interesting. As Suga once said, "Rather than approach kpop as a genre, a better approach would be Integrated Content." I think that is very true when you watch videos like this. The music, dance, visuals, clothing, etc. have way of pulling you in and are truly mesmerizing.(Especially since it's Lay LOL) If you're into a more simple yet intriguing type of MV I'd suggest watching some of Jackson Wang MVs. LAY is fantastic! He was one of the original six Chinese members of EXO (they started out with six Korean and six Chinese [Mandarin] members). Over the years the number has dwindled; as far as I know the number is now nine in total, and they don’t make a big deal anymore about being Korean/Mandarin. But originally they were differentiated as EXO-K and EXO-M, and the fandom was called EXO-Ls because L comes between (and connects) K & M. Cute, right? I’m sure you’ll get lots of suggestions for EXO music videos to watch, and they are well worth your time. They are a fabulous group, for vocals/choreography/rap/personality, etc. Sound familiar? They debuted a couple years before BTS; they were wildly popular, winning all the music show prizes and year end awards. Then when BTS came along and started taking over, the EXO fans were literally enraged and were the people at the forefront of trying to take BTS down, making up false accusations & trying to get them stripped of their awards. Yes, there were more haters than just the EXO fans, and I’m sorry to be so blatant about this, but it’s the truth that they were the main ones. The sad part is that the actual members of EXO and BTS are great friends, have great respect for one another as artists and people, and it’s such a crying shame that the fans have tried to ruin all this. If you can ever get up the strength to watch XCeleste’s video about BTS’s hardships (I cannot watch it anymore, I’ve seen it twice and it literally makes me ill), you’ll see what I mean about the horrible things BTS has endured, starting in the early days with the EXOL‘s. It always amazes me that all the hate thrown at BTS in the first few years before they became known worldwide, came from their own countrymen! It was the Koreans spewing venom at them including, among other things, death threats. DEATH threats!! For artists just trying to perform their craft! It goes deeper than just trying to strip their awards. I’d better stop there because I could go on and on, and I’m sure I’ve already offended people with what I’ve said. Anyway, EXO is great! LAY is great! As I said, you’ll get lots of recommendations for things to watch, and after watching LIT again, it made me think of another soloist from a K-pop group who puts out fantastic music videos. This is the artist named TEN from the group NCT. I’m going to give you a link to a beautiful dance practice for his music video DREAM IN A DREAM. It’s absolutely incredible. Not only TEN, but his dancers as well. I don’t call them “back up dancers” because they are just as front & center as he is! The music video is also great, but the dance practice obviously gives you a better view of the choreography. It’s contemporary/ballet, with beautiful ripples and other moves I don’t know the names for! But I know you’ll love it, and I’m sure this will lead you to search out other videos of his. And in chinese culture lotus is the symbol of someone/something that pretends to be pure but it's the opposite. Lay's anti fans call him lotus flower and this song is the response for the hate.

C-pop, J-pop, K-pop and P-pop videos are so much better than American music videos the American videos look amateurish. K-pop groups like Aespa, Twice and Blackpink and the P-pop group SB19, whether they are using CGI or not there videos are mind blowing. In another video you said you like music videos that tell a story so you should check out "Story" by NF, it's a little different from what you have been doing seeing as it's a rap.
