She is more committed to acting than the business is the issue the sharks have while she is asking for 300k of their money to make sure the shark is committed. They clearly have no respect for the arts and are making a mockery of her "hobby". She's pursuing an incredibly competitive and demanding career path while also running a business more successful than most of the full-time entrepreneurs that come on the show. She was open and honest about the business being a way to fund her career in a much less profitable field and was ridiculed for not being a full-time entrepreneur. Other than Glen, the sharks were completely out of touch and out of line. 9:41 their heads are so far up their own asses they can probably smell their egos. Bad aftertaste from this one.

Why should they have respect for the arts? They are investors. They are looking for a return on their money. They don't want to invest in someone who spends more time per week on a pipe-dream of being a hollywood actor than they do on the business they are asking money for.
@maxosawa
@maxosawa 3 года назад
I'm not sure how you equated being an investor with disrespecting artists but I assure you they don't go hand in hand. Glenn is an investor, yet somehow he didn't make an ass of himself. Nobody is suggesting that the sharks are obligated to give her money, but if they are uncomfortable with the fact that she is not full-time in the business then the appropriate responses would be: a) I'm uncomfortable with you being part-time so I'm out b) I'm uncomfortable with you being part-time, but your profitable business is thriving so I would like to find a way to make this work (Glenn) At no point is the appropriate response to attack her character or belittle her career path.

Captions and transcripts. Automated ones suck - just try watching these videos with captions on and see how accents are mangled. She specifically does university work where professors have a variety of accents, use uncommon words and combinations of words that AI will mangle, and where errors need to be minimal. The hardest parts of that work are the actual labor and building a book of business which will be recurring by nature. It's a good business that's really hard to scale... she's do e the hard work of scaling it and now wants to be a passive investor. So she's the shark here and just pitched a C suite job to the sharks.

Someone once said: _'If you say that money is the most important thing, you’ll spend your life completely wasting your time: You’ll be doing things you don’t like doing in order to go on living, that is, in order to go on doing things you don’t like doing - which is stupid!'_ She had the smarts to pass the business to Glenn who has the smarts to move this business to the next level. She can now dedicate the '30 hours' to doing what she loves while still owning a significant portion of the company.
