I know I said this in the video, but thank you all again, from the bottom of my heart, for your support last week. I’d always heard how amazing ARMY was, but to experience that outpouring of love and grace (and from the Dears, too) was extraordinary. I’m very much at peace and in a place of gratefulness and celebration with my uncle’s life, and I hope I can be half the man he was. He was a man of deep, deep faith, unexpected and remarkable humor, and incomparable kindness, and he was one of the biggest influences on my life. The lines about crying were inspired by an actual event. All of the guys had sat down with BangPD to talk about difficulties and struggles they were having and while they were sharing, Jungkook started to cry, which was shocking to them because of all of them he had been the one least likely to complain or express difficulty. And he said he was crying because the other six were having such hard times and it made him sad. I think the line about wanting to cry and not being able to was more expressing that he wishes he could be the one experiencing difficulty and crying *instead* of them, but he can't take their pain away.

He gifted it to ARMY when their tour was cancelled and it became clear that the pandemic was forcing the world into lock down.

They each have (at least) 3 solos so far, one for Wings, one for Love Yourself and one for Map of the Soul. These songs, the Wings solos, have double meaning. One meaning for them as people or artists, and one meaning for the characters. Each song’s level of meaning to one side or the other varies, and we’ll never know fully tbh. However, all the English lyrics inserted into these solos were done on purpose with meaning tied to the BU. Also, the lines that appear in the short films as well can, obviously, be tied to the BU. This song in particular, Jungkook didn’t feel like he could write the lyrics himself, even though they were all allowed to write the lyrics to their own solos. He, however, asked RM to write it for him. RM wasn’t sure about it, since it’s writing about JK’s feelings towards them. He recalled a time in an interview that JK said the only time he felt bad was when he saw the guys having a hard time and that he cried because the guys were crying. So that’s based on that. In that same interview JK says he was very grateful to the boys because he came to Seoul when he was 15 (13-14 our age) and that he feels like they raised him and that they treated him really nice. Jungkook once admitted that he hurts when he sees his older brothers (BTS members) cry or going through something hard. RM revealed that in a talk show. I guess thats what he meant.

So just for background because it can be a little confusing - the /songs/ of Wings are autobiographical. They're about the actual members and their actual feelings. But the short films and how those songs are used in them are, of course, playing towards the fictional purposes of the storyline. LOL about the 'having no scent' thing! Okay, so, literally, yes, the lyrics say 'scent' - it's a common thing mentioned in Korean. But what it really signifies is more like /essence/. jungkook had nothing, at fifteen, that made him uniquely him and he had no idea of the person he really was then. Typically, if you see 'scent' mentioned in Korean lyrics in a way that seems weird in translation, try to replace it with 'essence'. It usually makes much more sense.

I laughed out loud when you said "so we're gonna pretend that told me anything" KJHFDG Wings Era had so much symbolism, you have no idea how HARD it was to figure out at least ONE thing in the story, the fandom had soooo many theories during that time. Theories that Love Yourself Era only complicated even more some time after lol. But you're good with symbolism! and your interpretations are insteresting, insightful and really good!! Sorry coming late to this party. If you haven't seen it already watch the video of this song he does in a concert. The choreography is insane. Then during the behind the scenes you find out he was really sick and not feeling well during that performance You would never know it though. LOVE your insight into BTS content. Some of the things you are catching I never noticed before and totally make sense. People in this industry really look at life very differently than others. I have always said that singers and actors or any kind of "artist" feel life more than others. Their emotions are deep within them. They feel pain and happiness so much more than the average person. I think that's why their are so many that end their lives or try to find a way to numb the pain. That's my thoughts anyway. Welcome to Army!

Just a tiny tiny disagreement - I've seen BTS cam recordings prior to autotune and there are some pitch issues occasionally. For example, if you watch the MMA BTS cam of Dynamite, the one where they do the dance break - right after the break Jimin sings and he's off but then in the actual performance he's on. Not being argumentative, just saying they're human after all lol

I dont know if you know but they have been using the same 2-3 directors for all their mvs and Lumpens (the mv dir) is actually a short film director, I think its a conscious decision since their mvs always feel like a movie

that's not quite true. the original version of the painting in the short film was not painted by him, and as seen in the short film, was set on fire. JK recreated the painting for a gallery or something, i forget exactly.

Welcome back, I hope you and your family are fine and that you could have fun making this video I wont talk about the BU because I like your the line of thinking and I want to see where it leaves you hahaha I would like to talk about the song! The lyrics of the song are very personal to JK, he is talking about his relatinship and story with the members, but I believe they tried to make it matches the storyline! Like when he he talks about him crying, I remmember when he said doenst feel sad about his struggles but he cries when the other member are suffering. About JKs voice it is great that you talked about his smooth change because he is the best one to change from head voice to chest voice, or contrary hahah BTW I LOOVE your intros ahhaha

I love that you used that clip from "The Last Jedi" because I remember how striking and powerful that scene was when I first watched the movie. Even watching it again this time despite having seen the movie 2-6 times, I still got chills. The sound and music buildup and at the CLIMAX, silence. Complete and utter silence. And then the explosion comes in and the sounds come back. I love Star Wars. I liked the Last Jedi. But my brother!!!!! He despises it with a passion! It is so funny. He did more research and study into Star Wars cannon and directing and backstory and everything to formulate an entire argument "proving" why it's the worst Star Wars movie EVER, and he is so convincing!!!!!!!! He did more research on that on his own time than for his school assignments! 😂😂 I still love the movie because I love action, explosions, sci fi, and Star Wars in general, but I love listening to him roast other people for liking the movie. It is the funniest thing!!

I feel you very much with the internal emotions thing, my external emotions are extremely diluted, but I feel a lot on the inside, and that makes things difficult sometimes;; Like a lot of times people think I don't care about things, when I do very much, I'm just not loud about it ^^;;

You’re actually spot on on so so many things it’s amazing. I have a formation in what in France is called “spectacle (entertainment) arts” and I’ve worked on so many stages play it made me love, appreciate and analyze everything so much more. I have friends who went into production of tvshows or movies or stages, some other onto acting, writing books or sound checks but we all have the same background. I can see common points with you except I didn’t become a pro and being a critic is just being a pretentious prick most of the time so no bragging rights for that. I still like to watch a few theory and explanation videos after I do my own it always add to my own vision. You should REALLY read both the Notes books and the Save Me webtoon, I have a feeling you’re going to pat yourself in the back for a few things you got right. I hope your family and you are doing alright and supportive of each other in these trying times. The best is yet to come! Sending love and prayers all the way from here!

You had already noticed them, but I'm gonna remind you about the pairs. Suga and JK. J-Hope and Jimin. RM and V. As you watch the others you're gonna see why. There is almost no dialogue in the WSF so visuals and sound are really important. And notice the symbols/circles at the end. And JK walks in front of a car in "I Need You". The fight with Suga was in "Run". The 'Young Forever" clip was amazing. You see just how surprised and moved they are. "Young Forever" is really important to them. Especially Jimin.

Confession : i can't watch the wings short films (especially begin ) at night or alone . Cuz they scare me so i always avoid watching them until im emotionally ready 😂 the sounds are so creepy i start sweating 😖

Since you read Demian you might know this shortfilm is the same exact chapter where Sinclair is also trying to draw a painting! Hes also trying to send the painting.(i forgot most of it as i read it years before😂) Just like jk is putting the painting of sparrow hawk in the envelope. These shortfilms are symbolic of the story and very based on demian plus the storyline. So its not like a movie but yea abstract.
