If there is any person deserving of this honor Gary Sinese would be my recommendation. He actually does support veterans organizations and not a wanna be jack like a lot of people to get the publicity and recognition whether they deserve it or not. I had the opportunity to watch the LDB in Oshkosh, WI (EAA Air Venture) in 2010. Not only was he professional friendly and down to earth but the band members were molded by him and held the same well above high Standards.
@@garysinise9433 My father served in Vietnam while he was active in the Coast Guard. He lost his lower left leg but continued to serve as a Recruiter for years. He was a Purple Heart recipient.
@Lea Chase-Haller Wow, I'm glad to have met a daughter to a great man, it will be an honor to meet with your father. i will like to have you on my personal whatsapp so we can communicate privately here is my whatsapp number+1(347)769-0297 i hope to have you on my whatsapp soon/. Cheers!
Being made an honorary CPO is worth more than a million of those honorary PhDs that academics like to pass around like candy to politicians and 'community organizers'.
I think they will, and when they do I think they should make him an honorary Lieutenant, with the award ceremony being for Lieutenant Gary "Dan" Sinise.
Sinese was an excellent choice as was Ernie Borgnine(ex real E-6). The very poor choice was Bill Cosby. The Navy screwed up by not giving Don Rickles (ex-real Navy)this honor.
It is too bad he couldn't make honorary Rear Admiral. While Lieutenant Dan Taylor in Forrest Gump was in the Army, not Navy... Sinise did portray Astronaut Ken Mattingly in Apollo 13, who retired as a Navy Rear Admiral (and finally orbited the moon as Command Module Pilot of Apollo 16, and flew the Space Shuttle, having never gotten the Measles).
@@bethesdabaptistchurch5769 Army Lts. are O-1 and O-2s, while Navy Chiefs are E-7s, E-8s, and E-9s. While in practice nobody actually feels so, technically that means LT. Dan got demoted.
Interesting. The man is an "honorary" member of the different armed forces...from what I understand. I've also read he never actually was in the military. Why didn't he join and put his time in since he comes off as Mr. Patriot ?
It was his role ad Lt Dan in Forrest Gump that gave him a greater understanding of what disabled veterans go through that led him to work for them. He has worked many years now for returned disabled veterans and thoroughly deserves this award. Now back the hell off.
@@davidgraham8299 Who the hell are you and who do you think you're talking to? I'm a proud Vietnam/Draft resistor. It was because of people like me that got us out of an American tragedy sooner rather than later. That means we probably limited the amount of "disabled" veterans in the process. What he does is easy....being an honorary this and that. He should have joined the military when he was eligible to do so...in consistency with his convictions. Now you can STFU.
@@jrfoleyjr Right. An award to a man that had nothing to do with the other man. It's just a PR move anyway. You are also an assumptive ass, projecting your own feeble projections, as I hadn't 'voted' on this puff piece either way-not that it's any of your business or concern, Jr.
