That 65-year-old woman actress is totally out of reality. She’s never gonna work again in her life she thinks they’re gonna wait it out and get everything they want and good luck to you.

‘SUCCESSION’ creator Jesse Armstrong highlights the importance of keeping writers rooms as more voices help make shows far better. “They’re a great way to run some shows of scale and length, so I’m very supportive of the strike.” (Source: Deadline)

Sofia Coppola’s ‘PRISCILLA’ has secured a SAG-AFTRA interim agreement that allows the stars to promote the movie since it is being released by A24 who has agreed to SAG’s proposal.

The WGA received an invite to meet with studio CEOs on Monday where, rather than them presenting a fair deal, the CEOs lectured about how good their single & only counteroffer was.

Rachel Brosnahn joins the picket line at the National Day of Solidarity rally: “It’s really incredible to see so many different unions represented, WGA, SAG, IATSE, Teamsters, and it’s important for us all to stand together.”

I had an experience with Motion Capture and voice acting and have to say even though gaming industry is a colossus these days, voice over actors and mo cap performers are not fully considered 'equal' talent as traditional actors. What's really interesting right now is that the mainstream, 'regular' actors demand royalties for their digital likeness when it's used on new projects they are not technically involved with. Something MoCap actors could relate to... I guess the movie studios figured that their 'creative accounting' and sometimes cruel contracts/ NDA's would go unnoticed into this new era of streaming. They were wrong, preparation is everything and they were completely ill prepared for this new platform of entertainment. PS. You almost saw me as Leon in the new Resident Evil games :)

Central Casting, one of the biggest websites used by background actors to get work, now requires users to sign away their likeness to be used in any medium without permission If users don’t sign this, they can’t apply for any jobs on the web site.

AMPTP, WGA, SAG. It’s hard to tell who has the most disregard and disdain for the film and television working class and I. A. T.S.E. Guild and crew. AMPTP, WGA & SAG are all the elites rolled into one. All complaining about how much money the other ones are making while the rest of us fall into debt despair and face down foreclosure. They are all going to find a different attitude from the crews they will be depending on in the future, and it won’t be nice.

5% of these people work regularly

And the other 95 work infrequently as little as one day every two weeks, Imagine somebody who walks dogs one day every two weeks talking about not being able to pay rent and expecting healthcare for that

Are theses lazy union "writers/actors" still looking for a handout? Completely forgot about them and apparently so have the Hollywood studios.

The 1960 WGA & SAG Strike Ended In Better Residuals & Rights For Writers & Actors The 1960 WGA and SAG strike ended with better residual agreements and rights for both writers and actors. In many ways, the actors reinforced the writers' demands for guaranteed residuals that helped bring their strike to a more advantageous outcome. Of course, the SAG shared a common interest with the WGA at the time, similar to the current 2023 dual strike. The previous SAG concluded on April 18, 1960 with the ATFP agreeing to pay a one-time sum of $2.25 million, or roughly $23 million today considering inflation, to cover the implementation of the guild's healthcare and pension plans. The WGA protest continued for weeks after the conclusion of the SAG strike. The WGA strike finally reached a resolution on June 12, 1960 that secured the first residual deal for writers of theatrical releases in the history of Hollywood. The writers were also able to secure their own funding from the ATFP for healthcare and pension plans as well (via WGA). Ideally, the 2023 dual SAG and WGA would repeat the history of the 1960 dual strike, with the actors' guild setting a new precedent that will ultimately benefit the writers' original interests. Since Hollywood will be forced to respond swiftly and drastically in order to save its 2024 productions and beyond, agreements must be secured in both the writers' and actors' 2023 strikes that ensure artificial technology will not take over their craft in an industry that has always focused on the pecuniary bottom line.
