It never ceases to amaze me how people like Dane, Bob, and their supports are so delusional to believe they have the moral high ground while thinking this sort of behavior is okay. Disgusting.
There’s a lesson to learn here: Don’t base your entire channel off of calling other people out just to spite them and defending poorly written rubbish and calling yourself “the actual fan.” Firstly, Dane and his boys listened to Dan Slott on She-Karen being “comic accurate” and second, his entire 1 hour video defending MCU Hulk, I’m a big Hulk fan and I’ll say that the MCU didn’t do him faithfully compared to the animated adaptations of Hulk. Know your place and read the room, you aren’t the people that can speak for everyone, that’s all I ask.
It's funny how the Fandom Initiative touts itself as a supposed "Better, more good faith" alternative to The Fandom Menace, when in actuality, aside from Pop Counter Culture, who's actually a really cool dude, everyone else is either unbelievably boring or bad faith dickwads that refuse to allow others to have actual standards.

Hey man it's Eduardo from the video. I just wanted to address some of your points. 1. I've known Dane since last October and he hasn't ever expressed anything negative about what anyone has to say about him or any memes, generally speaking him and the initiative agree that if fans of the channels we cover are angry at us they are doing something right and I share in that opinion as well. 2. How is calling Eric an Uncle Tom racist? I get maybe out of pocket for someone who isn't black but o jectovely speaking Eric does hate on the hard work and success of his fellow black actors and creators for not being successful due to their original properties (as opposed to supporting them on their hard work and success but then again when I see black people hiring I see hard working people not diversity hires but that's just me) even though neither the film or comics industries have a lot of successful original ideas to begin with. If rooting against people of your own race because it doesn't fit some arbitrary personal standard that doesn't reflect the economic reality of people in those fields doesn't make you an Uncle Tom what does? Even if you don't agree with anyone's stances on his content it is osbervable fact that he thinks the canon of fictional characters is more important than actual black people getting success in their chosen professional fields. If I were out here like hating on Latino lawyers because they are working with the US legal system instead of making up their own laws based on their personal hang ups and fighting them in a court of law as if that is the only valid way for them to succeed on a semi daily basis on my channel nobody should be called a racist for calling me a Tio Tomas, I'm not giving them much else to work with. 3. The whole bullying thing is one of the things the initiative concerns themselves with but primarily it's more about how these channels straight up lie to their audience's in order to manipulate them into buying into their political idealogy, encouraging and validating their sense of entitlement which I think most people can agree is a dick move.
1. I've seen and heard Dane talk about people obsessively making content on him. If that's a misinterpretation on my end then my mistake. 2. I'm going to be honest, I didn't read too deep into this point because it's really simple: it's not his term to say. Just like he shouldn't call a black person a coon or sanbo. There's a whole term for that created just for white people to use: internalized racism. If he had said that, I wouldn't have completely agreed with the sentiment, but there wouldn't have been an issue. 3. I can understand that. Although, I'm not entirely sure what this point is in reference to.

And I only mention the third point because people bring up the bullying thing as if it's this sign thst he is a hypocrite and if you don't watch his content or know him I can see how that makes sense but his fan base and people in his personal life feel affected by the sort of rhetoric channels that he criticizes create so he has more of a personal stake than having some sort of savior complex. The way we approached things back when I was in the intitiative was that we are criticizing people who manipulate and lie to their audience in a way that makes them feel justified in harassing anyone they claim to be part of some woke agenda (whatever that means). I agree that Dane has far less patience and is quicker to mute and block than anyone else in that group and tends to be aggressive about it but he makes contacting him in order to set up a debate or discussions easy, most people just take the block as some L on his part and don't bother contacting him further, same happens with everyone else in that group, even myself and I'm the least restrictive.

My problem with Dane in that regard is that he told him not to worry unless people who share Charles' values have an issue which is a mind numbing take because it shouldn't always take other people's reactions to make you realize that you fucked up. Sometimes, you just have to know. I don't know about the bullying thing in general. I don't think Dane is one. My issue was the things he said about Jeb and the recent lies saying Jeb defended Nerdrotic for having Gavin McGinnis on his stream, which Jeb never did and Dane knows that. I'll talk about that when I recover, Dane needs to sort that out because Jeb apologized twice, to my knowledge, for any trouble he feels he may have caused. Dane just sees nothing wrong with what he said. I did see that Dane is willing to talk to him at least.

But when you take into consideration that he mainly has to deal with these kinds of criticisms exclusively from the fans of the people we cover who are almost entirely white themselves and who are more interested in taking anything he says and does or is associated with that is slightly problematix specifically so they can cry racism when actual POC like myself or any of the other POC he talks to get it. Let's face it if his critics gave a damn about racism they probably shouldn't be supporting the channels they do to begin with. Frankly what else can any rational person even say about Eric July other than to acknowledge the dude has a really fucked up hang up when it comes to other black people getting success and opportunities? As far as the Jeb thing goes though yes he went too far many people told him he went to far, he knows he went too far, he acknowledged it on his Twitter the very next day.

I do 100% agree that the "chunky monkey" thing was blown out of proportion by detractors. The Uncle Tom comment was a problem because it was a derogatory term specific to a group of people. You can literally call anyone a chunky monkey and not have a problem because that's just a general insult. And yeah, I know concern trolling can be a thing to the point where it's hard to tell who's being genuine and who's being disingenuous. I myself don't know why the people who were offended by "chunky monkey" were seemingly okay with Ryan Kinnel's George Floyd stunt a year or two ago. I get that. I didn't know about Dane saying that. Dane blocked me on Twitter. If he apologized to Jeb then I think he's good in that regard.
