This was my exact route: turn left out of the DMV down cavour, left turn at the stop sign on lawton, right turn at the stop sign on clifton, downhill so watch your speed (try to keep it about 18 mph) and right turn at the stop sign on manila, extremely sharp left turn on glendale, uphill and slow rolling left turn on desmond, blind intersection so creep up a little and turn right uphill on clifton, another blind intersection so creep up a little and turn right uphill on college, downhill so watch your speed on boadway, right turn on 51st where you will merge left by the palm tree, then go down a big hill WATCH YOUR SPEED HERE YOU WILL SPEED UP RAPIDLY, then merge right, then later park and reverse, then turn right on telegraph WATCH OUT for the no right turn on red sign here, then right on claremont back to the DMV

Did you pull into the bike lane to do the reverse portion on 51st? I’m confused if I can cross a solid white line even if there is no biker

@@mimimimimimimi772 Yes you will park and reverse on 51st usually on that long block before you get to whole foods. Slow down, signal, check your mirrors, make sure they really see you turn your neck and cross into the solid white line into the bike lane and park. Lots of parking space here. You will probably park next to that big RV you can see on google maps.

Passed on Wednesday. My test was really short. Only like 5 minutes. Make sure to use signal went pulling into and out of curb. Also watch out for pedestrians.

@@doriss7700 yes and no. First she made me turn left onto Cavour st(street next to dmv) and then after driving for a little bit she made me turn left onto clairemont ave next to dmv and then right onto telegraph ave

Hi everyone, unfortunately did not pass bc I got used to the practice route and they saw me practicing before my appointment, which I believe is why they took me on a totally different route. I got nervous and made a critical error. Also, try not to practice during DMV hours of operation bc they said they could give me a ticket for doing that (even though I didn’t follow them, I was ahead and had to back out bc one of the roads were closed). From my research I found that it’s not illegal to do that but it will piss them off lol

@@feetcheese since then failed twice. Once because of a stupid mistake and once because of parallel parking. Going to keep practicing and probably book the Colosseum DMV instead to avoid parallel parking

@@feetcheese You have to parallel park. At a lot of DMVs they don't require it but for some dumb reason, Claremont does. Ya probably don't take your test at Claremont for your own sanity's sake

Do not take ur test here if u can avoid it. I had to wait in a line of cars after checking in for an hour and a half and the lady who tested me was awful and failed me for going to slow even though there were a bunch of potholes and bikes and cars parked in the side of the road. BAD DMV.

@@rishih126 I had never driven in Oakland before and passed for the first trial using a car I had never driven before. I suggest saying everything you do out loud if you can do that like "signal, mirror, shoulder" etc. I got a really nice examiner, the test was fair enough honestly. Some people in the office itself do not really care about you, so make sure you bring all the documents you are supposed to bring. I was driving both in the city and in the residential areas, including roundabout. The driving itself was like 15 mins. I did it during rush hour, but there was almost no traffic. We encountered a construction work on the road and hence I needed to pass them using the opposite lane, and it was very near an intersection - in an unexpected situation like that, do not panic, but do not freeze either. Also, be super cautious and slow while driving from and into the DMV parking lot. Be a defensive yet active driver and it will be easy - GL!
