In this video we show step-by-step installation of VLine VL2 Infotainment and navigation system into 2020 Acura ILX with dual screen.
When VLine system is connected to the factory stereo in Acura ILX, it adds CarPlay, Android Auto and embedded Android interface to the existing factory car stereo.

Once VLine VL2 is installed and connected into your vehicle's OEM stereo and display system, you will get the following functionality:

I have a 2017 ILX tech package. They dont come with apple Car Play included. Anyway I could go about getting apple carplay installed on the car? Its the version with Duel screen

Are those center consoles interchangeable ? I have 2016 base model does it have the extra wires in the harness to plug into a nav screen or dual screen center console or would that need wiring ?

I have a 2020 ILX sadly it didn’t come with the navigation screen I have the one with the cd, do you happen to have a link the to navigation screen I could buy and replace the base model one I have?

We do not offer the navigational screens, GROM VLine system works with the existing screen that is already available in your vehicle. gromaudio.com/store/vline/grom-vl2-hon3.html It needs dual screen to operate.

is there an amp somewhere in the system of a 2017 ilx base? i have tinnnyfront speakers no back ones working. i put in an aftermarket radio through the harness and still same issue. i thought it would bypass any built in amp in the factory radio but i cant see how 6 speakers went out at the same time

The vLine VL2 system works with all speakers and amps that are currently installed in your vehicle.

@gromaudio i have no idea what that means. What is a vl2 system? Im just trying to figure out what isnt working so i can replace it. Is there a bad amp somwhere, a bad fuse? What would cause the factory radio to function but only the front speakers that sound like birds chirping. No back speakers. I just want any audio again.

Is your CarPlay factory installed? Potentially you can get the GROM-VLine VL2 system for Acura ILX 2019, HON3VL2: gromaudio.com/store/vline/grom-vl2-hon3.html With VLine vL2 you can get the navigation such as Apple and Waze Maps without the iPhone connected. However you will still need to provide the internet to the system, either via USB modem and SIM card with the internet plan, or phone internet tethering. I recommend you to contact our technical team at gromaudio.com/support.html They will double check your specific factory system setup.

Question. I have a 2016 Acura ILX. Can I install a newer version of the radio that has gps/navigation? Do I need to install the gps antenna or how does that work?

That is a tricky question, and you should discuss it with the stereo shop in your area, or do more research. We do not offer the aftermarket stereos, we develop and manufacture the systems that allow to add CarPlay and Android Auto to the existing factory car stereos. Hi, I have a 2020 ilx base without the dual screens. Can I change my radio so I can get something with Apple CarPlay? I’ve been looking around for an alternative and everything I see says it doesn’t fit my car. Any recommendations? Thanks

GROM system works with the factory stereos only, and for 2020 ILX it requires the dual screen. You can see if you can potentially swap the stereo from the single screen to the dual screen of Acura the same year. However we cannot guarantee it is possible.

For half the price they are asking yoy can get a Double din radio. Purchase the Large Screen dash and simply upgrade from there.

VLine system has HDMI-In and HMDI-Out. The system for Acura ILX 2016 is available here: gromaudio.com/store/vline/grom-vl2-hon3.html It is compatible only if the stereo has dual screen.

ELS is just 5 watt speakers. For that matter go with JBL

Why would you install the GROM in the A-spec model when it already has the Carplay and AA.

The earliest models do not have CarPlay, AA. The installation is the same. VLine also provides the access to much more apps on Google Play via its native interface.
