With 190k Miles on my RSX Type S, the paint has obviously seen better days. Rather than getting a full paint job on the car, I opted to have the worst areas resprayed. Honda's are prone to Clear Coat failure more than other car brands due to the thinness of the clear coat and lack of UV protection. There's really not much that can be done other than a respray of that area. With this Honda project being less budget friendly, I bit the bullet and had Auto Express in Boise give those areas a fresh coat of Nighthawk Black Pearl! Dave gives us a quick run down of the painting process and what needs to be done due to all the rock chips. The Paint results are AMAZING!
Now it's time for the spoilers...and no I'm not talking about movie spoilers. In my first walkaround of the RSX, I explained that I had purchases a genuine OEM Honda Integra Type R Spoiler from Japan. In the time of it shipping to me, I also purchase a genuine OEM A Spec spoiler from my boy notunerhector. To my surprise, they are the EXACT same thing. No difference whatsoever in the part number, weight, look, etc. So I essentially bought two of the same damn thing. The difference between the eBay spoilers VS the OEM ones is the dip in the middle of the eBay spoiler. Anything genuine will have a smooth top to it.
I know this video is heavy in the talking portion, but I didn't have much time to film the paint process, just a quick paint update. With that said, I hope you guys still love the video. Next step is installing the A spec decklid and A spec spoiler on the RSX, can't wait!
