It's not always related to booze...I don't and never have drank booze and my life is hell from acute and chronic pamcreatitis. .. painful is an understatement it has destroyed my life one agonizing day at a time
The video didn't mention this but mine was caused by a poor diet. I never drink and I'm not on any heavy pills they thought it was gallstones but it was not. I was lucky I was only in the hospital for a little over 2 hours. I was lucky I went very late at night so they weren't busy. Yeah, the pain is unbearable! It hurts to breathe it feels like your ribs are broken and full of acid. You can't take a deep breath, not to mention I was working during my worst flare-up! Luckily I have a great boss and they let me go home early.
I hope your father will be ok. He has to change his diet. Like seriously change his diet. I have always been the type of person that was able to eat anything i wanted to until now. The reason I have it is from long term alcohol drinking so cutting out alcohol completely(which was very very VERY difficult) was a huge help for me but when you get an attack the pain is something you don't wish upon anyone else. Make sure he cuts out alcohol, tobacco, fatty/greasy foods and some like myself can't have caffeine either. One of the main things he wants to do is relieve stress from his pancreas. This is why I take digestive probiotics to help my body digest better / properly. Don't eat until he is full either(eat small portions daily is what I do). That will cause a lot of stress on the pancreas if he has stones and it can't let out the enzymes through the duct and he will be in so much discomfort. good luck to him. I pray for myself everyday. The pain is brutal and I'm only 28. Pancreatic proteases (such as trypsin and chymotrypsin) - which help to digest proteins. Pancreatic amylase - which helps to digest sugars (carbohydrates). Pancreatic lipase - which helps to digest fat. That's the enzymes the pancreas releases to help you digest and get the nutrition of proteins, sugar and fats.
*Curious comment Can author or a well-informed fellow youtuber tell me more in detail, why fruits and vegetables are beneficial for the (pankreas in particular now), whereas high-fat food and triglycerides are less beneficial? Tobacco and alcohol as well as meds I understand :)
high-fat food needs some enzyme to be digested which is produced from pancreas cells. In some cases like a gall stone, it blocks the duct of pancreas, so the enzyme cannot be secreted out of pancreas, then causes further damage to the pancreas bcs enzyme is trapped inside ith pancreas.
Oh I'm sorry. I really hope I don't get it again. How many days were you in the icu and do you know whether you were unconscious, because I was so I don't remember most of what happened
I was in in the hospital for 19 straight months. Over 2 months in the ICU, had surgery, was clinically dead for a couple minutes, and now I've been out of the hospital for a year and im still not well. I also have an ostomy. my doctor said it was the most complex case he's seen in his career.
i think i have this... ive been having these episodes of really intesnse abdominal pain, accompying nausea and a fever. At first i thought it was gas but now im thinking otherwise
I thought it was acid reflux but the night after i had a drink and fried food. Yeah, i had to go to the hospital. Please do yourself a favor and plz plz plz go to a doctor!
The thing is it affects everyone different. I went to the hospital and it was confirmed pancreatitis however, never was nauseous from it or got a fever. It just felt like I was shot in the gut. Next time it happens go have your enzyme levels checked and that will confirm it or not. It can be a lot of different things that cause abdominal pain.
