They are indeed most awesome figures. Slimmer ( and more detailed than the first ACW Infantry box) with superb slender muskets. Perfect, as you say, for conversions.
I shouldn’t really have started watching this series, got me digging out my ACW collection and I’ve just ordered a load of Perry stuff, including two of these sets. Looks good. Like you, I use 20mm washers or penny’s for plastic figures to give them more weight but the bases in these boxes will do for metal figures. You painted any yet?
Nice work emmet! I Will keep an eye out for some videos! Yeah these plastic round bases would be fine for metal miniatures. I have painted up a 24 man unit on Union and I’m currently painting another 24 man Union unit. I’m batch painting them to try speed things up.
Look forward to seeing those. I normally paint both forces together but this time I’m going to concentrate on the Union first. Have a look at Crusader Miniatures, they’ve got some nice looking ACW figures and unit deals too, hoping to get some. As for rules, I’ve already got ‘Longstreet’ and ‘Sharp Practice’ so at least I don’t need to fork out there.
@JohnnyRebWasATexan originally all my infantry were based on pennies but I’ve begun to swap them to multibasing so with that in mind I would glue them to the pennies with PVA whilst I painted them and that should make it easier to remove from the pennies when I comes to putting them on the larger base
These are sold by Perry miniatures and most historical model shops should sell them. You can try their website as-well which is Perry-miniatures.com. You might be able to find some on eBay.
