I dont think people take in account how Adam Ant became a sensation. He was an artist with vision and the self directed plan to bring his ideas into our reality. He was copied by the like if Michael Jackson. His costumes and beat. He was quite an original.
Oh he is such a sweetie. It feels like you are sitting with him in his front room. I've seen him on the new tour 3 times now in the States. Adam is still magnificent!
If anyone can find me a more beautiful, charming, sexy, appealing, disingenuous, graceful, elegant and generally more perfect example of a man - anytime, any place, anywhere - I will give them a huge sum of money. And on top of all that: he's incredibly talented, both musically and artistically. I grew up as a teen avidly buying his records and surrounded by imagery of him, looking and behaving like this. Can anyone wonder that I never found a man to equal him? They broke the mould with Adam!
There are only a small handful of people that I think could come close to comparing. Prince and Ville Valo, looks and talent wise I think are on par with him, I’d sell my soul for all of them to at least be a part of my life.
@Catwoman880 I found my old VHS tapes from high school and college (I am old!) and was amazed at all these little 'goodies' that I found. This was on MTV, and if I remember correctly, it was a show about the making of music videos and what goes in to them. Adam was so ahead of the game with his videos back in the 80s!
Is Adam Ant the sexiest teetotaler ever or what? It is so cool to have an fully grown artist like this never to take drugs, still be alive and still trying his best to survive the illness!
I actually met Adam Ant for the first time on the same day this Episode of "Liner Notes" was recorded for MTV in Feb of '84. He had this exact outfit on and in full make-up. I could barely look at him but he signed my jacket!! A great day for me. It was also the same week he would perform on Saturday Night Live for the first time.
my word he was a gorgeous man. freaking creative and i so appreciate his transparencies because that is terrifying how people can get and they can become soul murderously brutal towards those with mental illnesses or some strange weakness yet he braved it on through. I see it more of a strength than a weakness because it takes courage to face self with honesty. Bless him.
I love the way he gets both so intellectual and so mundane about people taking their clothes off in front of each other. We're just following ancient history. If i strip for you will you strip for me? To me, like to so many others, Adam is a very charismatic figure and my respect for him increased all the further when I read his autobiography stand and deliver.
Damn I was born in the wrong decade… 😭 I’m in love, even now he’s still as charming. Instead of being born in 88 I’d have preferred to be born when he was so I could have had a chance. 😅👰🏼♀️😍 Charming, sexy, talented, great sense of humor, eyes you could lose yourself in. What more could a girl ask for? 🥰💍👰🏼♀️😅 A girl can dream, and yes, if he asked me out now I would say yes in a heartbeat!
I hope it comes to pass - I have a ticket for the show that was supposed to happen in LA last February - got canceled and rescheduled for September. Crossed fingers America gives him a Visa that time!
the beginning of the end for AA. Strip is woeful, and so are most albums after the beautiful Friend of Foe. Manners and Physique, which was amazing, ended up never being released...go figure...
Manners and Physique was marvelous, I got the cassette (yes really, cassette!) when it came out. That was in England - was it not released in other countries? What a waste, if it wasn't.
