I have heard them both. Trueanalog Strictly OEM is a supplier to the premium hi-fi and recording studio industries, We manufacture AMT's and dome tweeters in-house. The JBL 306 MK II is a speaker system that when listened to alone without comparing another speaker is forgiving and musical. Forgiving meaning it's not as revealing of recorded material (the intention of the 306P system design is a home recording studio playback application) and musical meaning it can be "fun" to listen to because it's not so revealing and does nothing so well or so bad, but has a little hump at 60-70 Hertz I going off of memory. The ADAM T7V is more revealing of the recorded material and is closer to a recording studio monitor (which is the design intention) , I can understand why listeners would say "its brighter" but it's not. The nature of the AMT is that it's faster and does not have the lag of a dome tweeter, couple that with a necessary higher crossover point from woofer to AMT naturally makes the T7V revealing of the recorded source. I would summarize it by stating the ADAM T7V completes its design intention and the JBL306P would cater to a hi-fi crowd more so than a recording studio crowd. A misnomer. Bec the original yamaha NS-10s were inended for home. If you think about it, ALL manufacturers want to say their speakers are flat..neutral etc. There is no "hi fi" or "studio" . A speaker is a speaker and should give the truth. Wc is why studious and mastering use eggleseton works.dynaudio..focal adam etc...i use Dynaudiosin my mastering studio...so a bass heavy speaker is just that..a bassheavy speakr or a less performing tweeter..
@@makina8879 I thought like you for some time - until i had the JBL LSR 305 at home. I loved the sound but it was too revealing for me, because it was impossible to listen to music in a relaxed way - it was just too exiting for that. I think it has slightly overemphasized high mids while the low mids are a bit shy so i missed some body. Also bad recordings got revealed even though they still sounded good. There are some manufacturers of Hifi-Speakers who especially tune their speakers a way they are not too revealing, because then they are easier on the ear and even sound good with rather bad recordings. I prefer this too. I don't need to hear every last detail - to me the overall balance and smoothness is more important. For a studio speaker it's important to hear every last detail, so i think there is a difference between the Hifi approach and the Studio approach. Even though some Hifi manufacturers tune their speakers as flat as possible and some Studio speakers have a mild bass boost and a rolled off or emphasized treble response.
I have both and in person the perception of sound is totally different, here the adam t7 sounds bright but in reality the adam exceeds 3 times or more in the separation of the instruments. The highs are much better to edit instead. The jbl has good sound to listen to but not to studio. The adam is in another league, you should also have a good sound interface. For the price and the experience I recommend you to eyes closed The adam T7V not T5V. The Adam T5V lacks good bass. Also listen to it live. Good Channel
Have listened to both in real life, this doesn't do justice to how soft and delicate those Adam ribbon tweaters are on the ears. If they weren't so expensive where I live I would have gone home with the Adams.
very close but JBL has tighter transient sound, Adam's low end feels mushy and delayed a little bit.. Adam have more tighter high end, but stereo image wise JBL sound close to original soundtracks.
The JBL have a nicer more comfortable sound for enjoying music but theres no doubt the ADAMs have a clearer more revealing sound for mixing and mastering.
Both sounds almost the same (i like the adam's better) and on the cosmetic side jbl fails for me don't like that cheap looking front and thanks for the vid 👊✌️🤪
I thought the same about the JBL front but now i bought them and i can guaratee it looks badass in real! Can‘t compare to what it looks like in the video.
Do you keep your favorite reviewed speakers? I remember you liked the Airpulses and Edifiers (but at least returned the airpulses). I would love to know your favorite speakers at each price point. I have Adam A7Xs but they are almost too revealing to me (and certainly too much bass for my space)
oh good test thx for that! both nice but jbl have better mids for me, the rock track shows that really good, on jbl sounds the e-guitar more accurate, i miss the crunchy on adams. greetings
Don't look at the parameters, trust the ears and taste of each person's sound quality. Personally, I feel the T7V has more detail, the sound has more depth and solidity
S530D vs S350DB is still missing! Would be important video for us who are thinking about upgrading to the newer technology it offers. One guaranteed sub here if you release it ;)
to me the jbl 306p sounds a little unnaturally throaty in the mid-range and part of me thinks that damping those horns a would fix it but never know till you try
Hello! Thanks for all the comparison videos. Can you do comparison of SWANS D1080-MKII, SWANS D1080-IVB with Edifier Edifier R1850DB and Edifier R2000DB?
They sound almost identical through my Adam A7's but my goodness the JBL monitors are the ugliest monitors I've ever seen! because of that it's an easy win for the Adams regardless of price differential.
COMPARING (A/B-ing) TWO DIFFERENT SPEAKERS AND LISTENING TO THE COMPARISON ON A LAPTOP IS SO BOGUS. YOU CAN NO WAY PERCIEVE THE FULL AUDIO SPECTRUM WHILE LISTENING ON A LAPTOP OR I-PAD OR PHONE..... GREAT WORK....
