One of the most musical drum solos ever! This is a masterpiece of playing groove and melodies on the drumset! Never gets boring, like your favourite song, even after listening to it for the hundreth time!
The asian guy on the back is enjoying it so much... that should be the only purpose of drumming (or music in general) To groove and make people enjoy. I love this "type" of drummers which go to a clinic an groove the hell out of the drums more than the ones who just show off their abilities. I respect and admire super technical drummers, but I have a most pleasant time watching and hearing grooves than chops. My humble opinion.
Just stumbled onto this , ..........now that's what I was looking for fresh, innovative , pleasure to see and hear , will be keeping a close eye on this chap , fantastic !!!!!
He's great, he has a classic feel with some updated chops. I do wish he could get some old school Freddy Gruber rips, he could be the next Steve Smith. He has alot of energy, would be very cool to see some laid back tom patterns and jazz influence....
I love that he goes into Brake 4 Monster Booty from Uberjam right before the 6 minute mark. That Scofield album introduced me to Adam and is still one of my favorite pieces of music all time.
Never heard of him before, but he was NICE with his. I loved the format of his solo, the range and variety of grooves, and how he brought it all back to the beginning at the end to sum it up. Well thought out and well executed.
one of the most groovy drummer on this planet. Sooo funky, tight, in pocket and he knows, how to tune a real sounding funky drumset. Put the hands up for this great musician!
All i can say is unbelievable. The best i have ever seen. Got a little bit of that Dirty South Jazz Band..reminds me of when i lived in Mobile Alabama during Mardi Gras.
Note to sound engineers everywhere.....4:57.....Drummers of this caliber know how they want their drums to sound, ESPECIALLY THE SNARE!!!!!!!!!!! Leave your reverb at home, friend.
Man , I like this!.... Heres what I get The first hit sounds like Tom Brechtlein with Chick C.-"Grandpa Blues" Then The JB"s- " Super Bad" into "Cold Sweat" 4:30 Chuck Brown (w/ Ricky Wellman) into Trouble Funk roto tom stuff 6:00 ErikB & Rakim "I know you got soul" super awesome!! (my drum fill at 6:04)
This dude has the best buzz rolls and left hand ruffs, triplets, whatevs.. What a great sounding kit too!! Watch and learn from a master.. ADAM DEITCH!!
The grooviest white boy on earth. God can he play. Sounds like a psychotic New Orlean's marching band on meth. Also watch his Modern Drummer performance from a couple of years ago. Influenced by Stubblefield, J. Dilla, Stanton Moore. Benny Greb may be more mind blowingly complex, but no one grooves like Adam. The hi hat and double stroke ghost notes are just cold.
Smiles for miles ... amazing ... makes me wonder about how good people can get at something they put their mind to ... it never ends ... deitch is mechanical at points ... holy sheet ...
I kind of miss when Adam was doing more of the HipHop and electronic/breakbeat music. Not that him playing lot of the jazz and funk stuff is bad, but to me his time with Break Science made him more unique to me.
I FUCKING LOVE THIS SHIT! This reminds me of a Buddy Rich solo just because you keep it fresh and you can amaze people who don't even know how to drum. Very impressive.
