I remember Adam from his Average White Band days, but heard about Lettuce through Kenny Benson. Aside from being a genuinely nice guy and an extremely rare talent, Adam Deitch is the ultimate blend of technical perfection and innate groove mastery. Rhythmic genius. He is simply the Best Funk Drummer On The Planet. Period. A tighter and more deeply pocketed drummer you will not find. If funk, jazz, or hip-hop is your thing-- this is the guy you want behind the kit. If you get a chance to see Adam at a festival, be prepared for a jaw-dropping performance.

For those of you who've never seen Lettuce live - Go. Fucking. See. Them. I've seen hundreds of concerts in my life they are at the top. You can't not move when Deitch is playing. The dude is otherworldly. Massive influence on my own playing.

This is what funk and pop drums should sound like!!!! Boomy bass no muffling, super high cranked up snare drum.........I love this there are some drummers of this epic sound but most and best are: 1. Chris Adler 2. Jay Weinberg 3. Jonathan moffet and few times Joey jordison also

@@ianmuessig Same here. I switched to a EQ4 and I threw in a Kicker from Sonitus Acoustics to focus the sound and I love the result.

The EQ4 is the best bass drum head i’ve ever played, specially the frosted one.

Yeah, I gotta say, I was definitely a bit distracted by the kick drum sound. I honestly think it had more to do with the recording, specifically the mix and mic placement. It was all attack, as if the mic was jammed right up against the head. Mix wise, it just didn't sound like it was blended too well, a little too on top of the mix. Oh well, it's still a cool video and as always, Adam was absolutely killing!

Frozd I love mine but I usually take the thicker ring and cut it and leave a piece around 4-5” and put a few pieces of tape on it to keep it from jumping out when I kick the head. Mine has killer attack and not this sound you are talking about which I agree with which is why I cut the foam. I never used emads but a few used kits I bought had them on them and I loved them!
