To make it more clear: He couldn't believe in what he sees. Movies are lies and illusions and Adam Driver knows that very well. A magic trick is fun unless you don't get it
Pretty relatable. Frankly the most challenging try-not-to-cringe challenge is watching ourselves whether it’s acting, saying stupid stuff, or dumb skits.
Berto Murillo is English your second language? Here I’ll simplify it: I relate to Adam Driver so much in this video. For me, the hardest try-not-to-cringe challenge is watching myself act or saying stupid stuff.
D- Manny Entertainment there’s actually a science to why people hear themselves differently: it’s because the human body hears itself differently than we hear other people. For instance, when you hear other people talk your ears hear their voice being projected outwards. When we hear ourselves it’s mostly from our mouths and it projects around our the side of our ears, which is different than how we hear everyone else. So if you record your own voice and play it back, most of the time people hear a different voice than they are used to hearing from themselves, and that makes us ‘not like it’. We’re simply not used to hearing ourselves in that way. All people simply hear themselves differently than we hear other people that’s what makes it so different.
I thought I had a rough voice. I sound like the typical cartoon geek. And I’m like... wtf does my wife see on me? And I had a existential crisis and noticed I was a nerd and started thinking and noticing things I never had about myself.
faraj moussa I think it’s 100% intentional and really adds to his arc. I love he goes from a loud brash dude that pathetically tries to be Darth Vader, to a stoic hero
Given his performance in The Rise of Skywalker I’m surprised he doesn’t watch himself, Adams got serious talent, Daisy Ridley too. Their performances, and characters in general were spectacular to witness
Zestea oh yeah it’s undeniable actors like Boyega and Isaac were wasted, they had their moments throughout the trilogy but Really the primary focuses were always Kylo and Rey, and it wasn’t until the Finale where we finally got to see the band together, and it’s such a shame it was only one movie the whole cast got to be United in. Hopefully future Star Wars related content doesn’t make those same mistakes.
Adam Driver is a certified badass. He doesn’t give a damn about the limelight; only the craft of acting like DiCaprio. I used to do theater in middle school and high school and I detested rewatching myself...what’s the point seriously? This guy has a great head on his shoulders.
DiCaprio only works with established directors. He would never take risks like Adam Driver, Jake Gyllenhaal or Joaquin Phoenix. He would never work with a good director who is lesser known.
He’s great. I can’t wait to see his career flourish “post” Star Wars. He’s very dynamic, very relatable and is great at portraying emotions! His career I feel is still in the very beginning stages and he’s already accomplished so much.
Love Adam, best damn actor of his generation, and is so humble and funny. He definitely deserved that Oscar nom, and I can't wait to see him in episode IX!
David O it’s true to some extent, Kylo’s arc was one of the things Rian Johnson never tampered/Ruined, instead expanding upon it, which led to his character having the most consistency and development. 2nd most consistent I’d say is Rey. Finn primarily lost his arc as a force sensitive in Last Jedi, and instead focused more on becoming a true Rebel. But I much preferred his arc as a force sensitive because it was more interesting and adds to the fact that some of the FO stormtroopers within the ranks did have sensitivity with the force. Even in Star Wars Rebels Canon States that you can be force sensitive, but you have to be open to it (Paraphrased from Darksaber Sabine Arc).
@@Fi_Sci_ hmm, Poe is the Oscar Isaac usual character, kinda leader, reliable and confident, and has that cool vibe, Rey is pretty much female Luke, but she is more concerned about her friends, that said, I still think kylo is my favorite, Adam is one of the best actors of our generation
I love that his getting better at interviews 'cause at first it was just so awkward mostly because he answer everything so abruptly and then it was just silence (still love those interviews ;3 )
WAIT WHAT ARE YOU PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT?? WHAT NEGATIVE COMMENTS ARE YOU REFERRING TO...WHAT ARE THEY SAYING OR MAD ABOUT? Or are they just making fun of his looks or something? I personally find him to be quite attractive but I like that tall lanky vibe.
As a perfectionist I can't even imagine how torturous it must be to watch your own work, see a mistake you made on screen, and then knowing that it will be immortalized on screen forever and you won't be able to fix it. That's why I think it's justified for Adam to have walked out of that interview.
So many unkind people in this comments section. I have a news for you. Adam Driver does not know your opinion and probably don’t care. So do yourself a favour and be more kind and positive and you will feel the benefit of it. I’m talking about being happy and content.
Who are you hating on? I literally only see positive comments? (I think he’s an amazing actor btw) Edit: ok I’ve seen two hate comments now, and about 10 of those stop hating comments
These commenters are so weird. They click on this video just to reply that they don't like watching Adam Driver either. Okay? Cool? Do you want a trophy? What's the point here? Simply don't watch him. Go watch Johnny Depp slowly deteriorate. Go watch Channing Tatum if you hate how Adam Driver looks. I don't know what to tell you, but Adam is a fine actor with mostly great critical reception. So somebody here is wrong. I'll let you all guess who that is. 😏
Yeah, Idk what's wrong with this people, same other people who commented to his co-star daisy ridley and how they bashed both of them for bad acting like what the hell acting means to them. other awful fans or non-fans are so damn demanding

So long as the director is happy with the scene, there’s no need to watch yourself, it’s not like the actor can reshoot the scene until they are happy with the performance
know1199 Exactly. If you can’t see your mistakes, how are you supposed to get better? It’s not like theater where you have the crowd’s reaction to guide you through multiple performances.
Why does he get so much hate? He is a remarkable actor dedicated to his work, full of passion in any role he plays. He is also a really kind, humble and sweet person. And he didn't do anything wrong.
this guy just seems to have so much appreciation for performing arts, like damn, you just gotta respect that. i have no idea why anyone would dislike adam driver.
I cant believe the comments section! If you dont like watching him, seriously, youre missing out. Dude is truly awesome. I didnt “get” it before but I get it now. So hopefully, youll also discover his brilliance 👍
I notice a lot of the salty comments are from bland men who can't seem to make peace with the fact that he's an academy award nominee and currently one of the most lusted after men in hollywood. Interesting.
Wait, is this really a read because I used "salty"? Coming from someone who actually sat there and typed "xD" like an emo teen from 2008? Fuckin' wild.
Man hater shoving right wing politically correct feminist Marxism bullshit down everyone's throat what a surprise oh wait I'm a straight man I guess I'm not allowed to have an opinion anymore my bad
I can totally understand that, it kinda reminds of when I acted in my theater class and then watched it on the tv afterwards, where it just makes you go “Wow, I sound weird”
He cracked me up when he talked about typing up thank you notes for his non-profit on an old-fashioned typewriter because they thought it was cool. He is like a real life version of his character Jamie in While We're Young - lol. Only in that respect of course but funny! :)
THANK YOU for NOT focusing on 'Adam Driver - Former Marine' !! And instead talking about the amazing organization he started & his captivating work. 🙌😊
That's understandable. I'm in my schools broadcasting/film production class and sometimes I have to be in front of the camera and watch myself, edit myself, and share that project to my class(occasionally the whole school) and I hate it so much
His acting on 'Girls' is his finest work IMO!!!!......he stole every scene he was in!...........I knew from the first moment I saw him during season#1 that he is gonna walk up the stairs to the stage of an Oscar presentation and receive his due recognition years in the near future!!!!........yes - he's a young enuff guy that many of his great parts are probably still in front of him.......but if he were to just walk away from acting all together - probably would make a great teacher with young children ( my 28yrold son is an Early Childhood educator , and a ripping DJ too!!!) ...... teaching n education based careers are noble endeavors............Good Luck Adam in whatever road in life you find yourself traveling on- I'm looking forward to the day you win the Oscar for Best Actor!.......than - 'Best Director' in your future because I believe you have a vision that can easily be transferred and translated into other fine actors and actresses!............good health n happiness to all !!!!!!!........we need more character actors like Adam in television n movies!!!!!......
I’m having a hard time detaching him from his character Kylo Ren even though Adam does seem like a very nice person - Ben Solo at the end of TROS maybe? Idk
you have to appreciate how much work adam driver and daisy ridley put into the sequel trilogy. they are both beautiful people and will forever been in the star wars cast family
All these hate comments are Bond villain one-liners: "uNdErSTANdaBLe. I Don'T LiKE waTChiNG hIm IN MoviES EItHeR". *lol* Where do people find the time? They click on the video to cry about its contents.
C'mon, he has to watch The Rise of Skywalker, it was amazing. A performance that can make you feel the emotions of the character being portrayed is truly incredible!
So there are only 316 comments on this video which makes it easy to quickly go through and get an idea of what people are saying. I would say 90% are people either claiming that there are a bunch of negative comments or that this guy is just "perfect" "awesome" "amazing" "gorgeous" "talented" etc etc. There are literally NO NEGATIVE comments so what are all these people talking about? WTF is going on here? I have heard of actors/publicists hiring firms who will write comments for the actors to try and beef up their reputation or make them seem more popular but I didn't really believe it until now. This is clearly going on here. Weird.
Literally searching for the negative comments and I can't seem to find any. Maybe they were deleted tho Edit: I found it. You just have to scroll down further
