I find myself back here in the wake of the news that Prince has died. Adam is singing a Prince song and wearing a Bowie shirt, representing two of his long-time artistic inspirations. He would go on to not only create and perform his own music but also front Queen, nailing the full range of their song catalog and honoring yet another of his inspirations, and also do some of the best Bowie covers I've seen. His shows are a fusion of cross-genre music sung with vocal mastery and channeling his own inner artist to the extent he can while also retaining support of a record label. It pains me to see that the music industry has become so stifling of free-expression, outside-the-box male artists such as these. Makes me all the more thankful for Adam Lambert's talent and bold expression.
He practicaly can sing ANY genre of music flawlessly, i've heard him do A LOT already, jazz, soul, blues, funk, broadway songs, opera, gospel, classic rock, hard rock, pop and he nailed it ALL. Voice of a generation. Forget Christina, forget Lady Gaga, Adele, or Jessie J..They're all talented, but the fact a MAN can sing like that makes him much more extra-ordinary.
i can't speak for everyone else who was there, but my friends and I were there to see all the performers that night, but mostly to see Adam. We all knew what an amazing talent he was.
The thing about Adam is he gives it his all no matter where he happens to be entertaining. A crowd of 50 or 50,000 Adamm sings his heart out. To me this is a sign of a great artist and performer.
Love it and him. He got me on the Johnny Cash song years ago on American Idol. The way he flipped it and rocked it out, I loved it..have loved him ever since.
I love the way Adam interacts during a performance, it's just real. He wants something, he says it. Makes the aud, & YT watcher feel like he's a REAL person, & you're right there with them in the experience. I'll get your desert for you Adam!! ;))
Good god the range on this man is incredible! I felt like I was in church there for a second. I was about to jump up and down and wave my hands in the air saying "praise god!" lmaoo hahaha excellent!
one of the few performers who sounds just as good live (or even better) than recorded. His voice is truly a phenomenon. Extraordinary!! Words cannot express how I feel when I hear this guy sing!
WOW!! BRILLIANT!!! Just when I think he couldn't get any more amazing...WOW!!... WOW!! I just don't even know what to say about him anymore. We are already watching and witnessing a STAR on Idol. Don't forget to vote Tuesday!!!! ADAM ROCKS!!!
What I love about this performance is that he's putting his voice through the most incredible, difficult gymnastics, hitting his marks impeccably, imbuing it with wild invention and moments of great subtlety, covering that insane range, and he makes it all seem EFFORTLESS!! Plus, he's having FUN with it, communicating with his audience, and conveying a sly sexuality. There's a reason musicians like David Foster, Brian May, Meat Loaf, and Slash are all singing his praises. He's INCREDIBLE!
Un. Freakin'. Believable. Adam sings the blues -- more proof that this man can sing ANYTHING, and knock it out of the park. Those runs are absolutely ridiculously brilliant -- inventive, death-defying feats of vocal legerdemain. And a charming stage personality to boot. Seriously -- how great is he???

omg! i loooove him!!! i just can't help smiling everytime i see him perform is like a damn drug! I want more and more, and he makes me feel soooo good everytime I hear him singing. I've never used drugs, guess now I know how it feels and I like it! but I promise, he's the only drug I will ever use
HOT HOT HOT I can't get enough of Adam Lambert - Every day I watch his idol performances, his idol tour performances and his UC performances, I love them all, He can sing anyhthing and I would watch with rapt attention. LOVE HIM LOVE HIM LOVE HIM. Can't wait for his CD will be first in line.

Man, this guy can do ANYTHING with his voice!!!!!Never heard anything like this before!!! I mean he can sing the hell out of every song, he can sing in an unique way opera, rock, jazz, soul, musicals ANYTHING!!!The only thing I haven't heard him sing yet is rap

Love the way his WHOLE BODY moves when he sings....just like Elvis....uncontrollable! The music just runs thru his body....at 3:55 and at 4:36-4:40....fabulous!
I can't get enough of Adam. I go from watching his AI Live Tour videos to his performances on AI show then before I go to bed I come here and watch his performances at UC. He is one hot, sexy, amazing, beautiful inside and out person. The gods smiled down on him when he was born. I wish him the best and pray that he will stay as sweet as he is. Love you Adam.
Oh wow. The more I see the more I'm convinced that he's the most amazing singer ever. His talent is without limits and he has such a great rapport with the audience. He can do jazz, rock, funk, ballads, I'm sure I'm forgetting something. Either way...ADAM LAMBERT for the win! Go Adam!
I've now listened to both the Alicia Keys and original Prince versions of this, and in terms of pure vocalism, Adam blows them both out of the water. I respect Prince's genius as both the composer and originator of the song, but Adam takes it to an entirely different level. Prince and Keys both make it an urban contemporary type song, where Adam makes it more a classic blues number. All three versions are terrific, but Adam's vocals and incredible runs are in their own league. Brilliant.
Yes, we do, he is so awesomely talented and gorgeous too! I love him like crazy, he has brought me such joy , makes me feel like dancing, singing and lots of good things, i am eternally grateful for his gift, don't ever stop performing or it will put out a light in my life.
Wow. I've wondered what Adam would sound like singing a Prince song and now that I've heard it I can say that he did a great job with it. Plus it's one of my favorite Prince songs so I'm even more happy. Adam should have won last week and it's a shame but then again, hopefully his CD will be great & true to himself cause he didn't win. I hope & expect Adam to be around for a long time.
Adam is like a drug to me, his taking me over litttle by little, and sooner than later im on an addiction (Shh, im lying im already addicted to him) He even looks and sounds gorgeous when he orders dessert in a middle of a song! I cant get enough of his voice, it's like a conditioner for the ears!
I can't get enough of Adam Lambert he is incredible. I come back here every night after searching for any new info on him and of course watching videos from the latest concerts - but I also need my UC fix of Adam, I can't wait for his new CD to come out in the fall. I just love everything about him, love watching videos of him being interviewed, he is sweet, kind, smart, articulate, entertaining and just too good to be true. Thank you Adam for trying out for American Idol.
Yes, he did... he is everywhere, the talk of the town. I heard him singing the Idol song on XM radio the other day. My local radio station was talking about him today. I can't wait for him to make one smash record after another and play to sold out crowds. Maybe then the haters and disbelievers will shut their mouths.

I love how 4:29 - 4:44 is just so effortless for him. His talent is beyond amazing. I'm so excited to see what the future has in store for him - which I'm sure is nothing but success.

Was really waiting and waiting for Adam to sing Prince on American Idol...I think he would have been the only person in the 8 years to have been able to come close to pulling it off!!! I WANT TO HEAR ADAM SING MORE PRINCE!
so funny. Jan 1st 2009 still sang at Upright Cabaret as a small singer. Jan 1st 2010 sang at Gridlock as a STAR with his own band and own songs from debut album. Waiting for what he's gonna do next 2011 It will be great
