i heard that he actually won and said to give it to the other guy because he was going to sing with queen . adam is a great person and deserves our respect .
Adam was just so different from everyone else on Idol that season. His song choices and style were just on another level. This man was born to be a star!
Im kind glad he didn't win (although I wanted him to win) because most boys and girls who win shows like this gain the money and cd record and we never heard of them. The people who don't win shows like this have more success and are more heard than the one who did. Don't get me wrong I think he was the one who deserved to win but then maybe we wasn't such we'll know like he is now :)
Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood certainly have done well...both winners...but not always Daughtry, Jennifer Hudson and Adam Lambert, while not winning have done very well....now only the Voice is left for singers to try and get a career..with the internet and you tube you can do it that way so the shows lost audiences and faded away..Adam was one of a kind..he just knew what songs to do, and how to perform them..looked so easy for him...still does...

I threw my bottle of beer at the TV when he was not announced the winner on idol i was furious. But now he is paying tribute to the legendary Freddie Mercury singing lead for the incredible band QUEEN and also doing so much more. ADAM LAMBERT IS THE GREASTEST THERE EVER WAS ON IDOL! 👏😍👑
I've watched / listened to Adam's performance of Mad World numerous times and it still gives me chills every single time. Adam has an amazing talent and I was shocked when he didn't win that season of AI.
I feel the same way. No other, version not even the original artist's version tops it, or ever could. Adam sings it with so much feeling & depth that it brings me to tears .
Regardless of what happened in Idol everyone should know he is the true winner. Broke my phone back then trying to vote for him with nothing going through. I tried over 200 times but it all turned out for the best and I never watched Idol after that. He is having an amazing career.
I absolutely adore Adam Lambert!! In my estimation they're is NOTHING he can't sing!! He makes everthing he sings sound amazing!! He's so talente! A SUPERSTAR!! I called him to win his season on American Idol. He didn't but it didn't matter as he rose to fame anyway. Actually it may have helped him to not win. He's my American Idol!! 🎤🎼🎶❤❤❤
He is a true artist. He sang it without vocal gymnastics . Perfect pitch. The stage , the fog, his costume takes the listener on a journey. And that one high crazy note. Wow, tasty little tease. Well done ! He has longevity . Not like the screaming, yelling, belting contestants today. They will be very forgettable .
Its Sept 2019 and I am still completely mesmerized by Adams haunting performances of Mad World. So happy for the success he has had with Queen for the last 8 years. Him being the runner up was a total joke,..HE WAS THE WINNER!,.. but it kept him from getting locked into Idol's contract and as soon as he was freed from the show, Queen tapped him to be their front man. Karma kicked in!
Absolutely. Never saw American Idol but I saw him with QUEEN in February in New Zealand and I was blown away. Since then I've been fascinated, and as mesmerized as you are by this performance - and many others.
Truly the most gifted male artist… the best singer in this century. He has a serious gift. He also knows instinctively how to use it. The best tone in any register on the planet today.
I swear I get this song stuck in my head and at least once a day I get on You Tube and watch Adams performance I love the way he slowed the tempo down and he put so much emotion into the song. I don't think that since Freddie Mercury passed that Queen could have found a better front man for their group. He is quite the showman

I don't think most people realize just how difficult it is for a singer to move while you're singing something slow like this (without having your voice quaver or break). Going down a set of stairs even more so! No words. I remember seeing Janet Jackson do this, too. This is still prevalent in theater work, stage musicals because that's where the concentration of talent is among singers. You'll rarely see it on TV, in film, or streaming.
This performance made me fall in love with him. He killed it. I've loved this song from the original Tears for Fears, til now. Adam Lambert is a gift to everyone who listens to his voice.
Adam. I have loved you every since Idol. Your talent is so pure and beautiful. This is coming from a 66 yr old woman who us straight, bean married 46 years. I just know talent when I see it. Good luck with your career sweetheart
He is so amazing because he can sing a song like this and then go to the opposite end of the spectrum and do the Queen songs. He didn't win the show but he is an absolute star and is incredible.
This performance is so good no words can do it justice. I'm stunned every time I see it. His facial expressions and delivery are second to none. No one on American Idol has come close to his talent before or since he appeared. I'm still in awe at his polished training and vocal ability.
When you are making these statements I truly hope that you are saying Second To None simply on the show. Because the original by Tears for Fears is by far a superior singing of the song. That being said I am not taking away from this man's performance. I'm just saying that it does not compare to the original. 2:19

Been watching Idol since the early 2000s, and when I first saw Adam Lambert on Idol- I fell in love with him! Everything about Adam like his talented voice, his style, and his looks! I had a huge crush on Adam! Surprised he didn’t win Idol!
I too remember this performance. That moment, I fell in love with his talent and knew that he would make it in the music industry. The best that American Idol ever had.

I will never EVER forget how I felt watching him on Idol. Utterly riveting in every performance .. I couldn't breathe, he was that mindblowing. If we moved the 2009 competition forward a decade, I bet he'd win.

I followed Adam through the whole season and every performance was more amazing than the last one. he sings with so much passion and feeling and love he's just the greatest thing that ever came out of American Idol and still going strong.
I stopped watching this show after he came second. He gave us the best season and was by far was the best performer and singer this show has highlighted.
