I know why - Its because of Social Media, to be more accurate, how hes monetizing himself, or whoever is in charge of his social media platforms. If they clipped and shorted his content and spammed it into Facebook reels, Tiktok, Instagram Reels, and RU-vid Shorts, and made his "Comedy Specials" to have huge thumbnails on RU-vid, and edit the current ones, and used those same shorts with Hotlinks to those Comedy specials, etc, He would blow up far beyond his 298k subs. Im sure hes comfortable though, but Im just saying.

Jay Pharaoh was the first comedy show I ever went to. It was at the Tempe Improv and was just looking for a good place to bring my date. At the beginning of his set he says that he's going to do impressions and I thought it was going to be horrible. How are you going to do impressions for an hour? Damn man he killed it the entire set! The room was roaring the entire time.

Something has gone really wrong with the audio on this. For one it doesn't sound like you've got a direct feed from the microphone. I know there's a lot of crowd work and you want to get the audience but you've really got to have at least your voice captured in a decent quality and just bring up the crowd mic when necessary. On top of this there are heaps of encoding artifact's. It sounds like the original audio was recorded as a low-quality MP3 and then that was reencoded into the audio codec for the video. It really tells in the background ambiance of the crowd just sounds like digital glitches. seriously I would pull this off because when you hit full special these days on RU-vid you do expect a minimum level of production value.
