@@CFEntertains haha basically Danny had the polar opposite response, which was essentially “aw, great, THIS fucking guy AGAIN.” Because apparently they went to the same high school (?) and Danny got real sick of hearing about how talented he is.
Two of my favorite songs from this show are "respectless" and "loser, baby" and i really need you and Mortius to do a cover of "loser, baby" you know, after you've reacted to it obviously
Just to make a note, Hazbin was picked up by Amazon nearly immediately after the pilot was released on RU-vid, but 5 years isn't an unusual development time for a new series. The reason for the total recast is possibly up for speculation, but everyone in the new cast is a Broadway alumnus. Vivzie is a big fan of musicals and likely was overjoyed to see the names that got signed on. So the gap wasn't the reason for the recasting.
I love your breakdown on this. Also, the pilot of Hazbin Hotel is canon still as far as I know. Also idk if you've seen Helluva Boss, but it's in the same universe, and Alex Brightman voices a character in that as well
No, it is not. I mean, technically the events are canon, but it's not really canon anymore. Vizpie said that some things are canon and others are not, that it is good to see the pilot to have more information but that it is not 100% canon
So, in Hazbin Hotel Alex Brightman is the voice actor for both Adam and Sir Pentious, polar opposite characters. Also in Helluva Boss he voices a character called Fizarolli, whenever you get to that. On Broadway he's best known for Beetlejuice and also School of Rock. There's even a reference to a School of Rock song in episode 6 😊
fun fact: the person who made hazbin hotel and helluva boss has a lot of broadway stars and famous celebrities. charlie’s voice actor is actually erika henningsen from the mean girls musical, husk’s voice actor is keith david, and adam and sir pentious’ voice actor is alex brightman aka the person who was beetlejuice in the beetlejuice musical and dewey finn in the school of rock musical. meanwhile in the other show helluva boss, there’s brandon rogers, KESHA (yes as in the famous singer), alex brightman again as a character named fizzarolli, and barrett wilbert weed who was actually veronica, the main character in the off broadway production of the heathers musical (which you reacted to an animatic of) and janis in the mean girls musical, so she worked alongside erika henningsen aka cady. not to mention vaggies voice actor is stephanie beatriz who was in brooklyn 99. and charlie’s voice actor in the pilot was nicole from class of ‘09 if you know what that is. so a lot of celebrities. and vivziepop, the person who made the shows is actually trying to get lady gaga as a voice actor right now.
i really love your insight, also it's really cool that you've found an interest in something you weren't really a fan of before. other interesting musicals id recommend are Ride The Cyclone, be more chill, dear evan hansen, beetlejuice (starring alex brightman). just to name a few. i also definitely recommend reacting to other shows with music in it or where music is an important part of said show. like steven universe, rwby, helluva boss, adventure time. i can't wait for the rest of your hazbin hotel analysis, especially for poison, and loser baby.
Adam is sush a good villain, he is one of my favorite, he is a toxic misogynistic douchebag that you have fun love to hate. For a musical show about princess of hell trying to redeem sinners, leader of exorcists, archangel rockstar and first human winner Adam is so fitting for this. He's funny and entertaining. He's complete opposite of Charlie. Charlie is a demon in hell, but as person she's a true angel who committed all 7 virtues in first episode, when Adam is an angel in heaven, but as person he's true demon who committed all 7 deadly sins in the same episode. Charlie's trying to solve the problem of overpopulation of sinners by the idea of redeeming them, so basically pacifist route, when Adam's idea is exterminating sinners, genocide route. Also his story is opposite to our main characters sinners trying to get redeemed and become better in hell, when he's a first winner who's spoiled and become worse in heaven. The main guestion, why Adam is an asshole and in heaven? Note to the beginning when Lucifer gave Eve fruit of knowledge (where's popular theory that after Eve ate apple, Root of all Evil took over her body and became a character named Roo, a future antagonist). So, when Eve ate apple, Adam is nowhere to be seen. So basically in hazbin hotel universe, Adam didn't ate apple. Do you know what it means? So basically Adam is a child in grown man's body who doesn't have any knowledge about morals, what's right or wrong, the difference between good and evil and he didn't have parents. He get to heaven (in ep 6 and 8 we learn that angels don't choose which soul get to heaven or hell, they get automatically). Higher angels acceptd him as one of their own, thinking that if he's in heaven, that means he's good flawles person and everything what's he's doing is ok and they don't argue with him. They teach him black and white rules. Angels in heaven are good, sinners in hell are evil. Just because he's a first human soul in heaven they give him higher status, labeled him as someone so special and significant important, fed him a story as flawless man and progenitor of mankind and the fact that he's he had a life with no normal discipline and punishment, not facing a consequences of his own actions, not learning from his mistakes. So basically Adam get corrupted by all this and doing whatever he wants for his own entertainment and also maintains his importance in heaven, and he became spoiled frat bro with God complex. He swears a lot because again, he is a big extremely immature child who didn't normally grow up in heaven, so basically he as child thinks that swearing is cool and angels don't argue with him about that.
15:43 unrelated, but i love how adam 'flaps' his arms like wings. Bro you HAVE wings- goofball bird x') ♡☆ (He does so much bird motion he's not beating the bird allegations)
It's so interesting you called out Disney; had anyone pointed out how this is very similar to Belle's opening piece from Beauty & the Beast? (No shade, I love it)
If you've never seen it, I suggest watching Repo! The Genetic Opera. It's so good and imo a lot of those songs are very coverable too, though not as many people are liable to know about them. Another fun musical is Rockula, but it's older and you might have a hard time finding it outside of playlists where it's broken into several videos.
dude i love ur reactions and totally would join ur patreon if my parents would let me but still keep making great stuff for youtube so i can stop being bored
