In his Dec. 3 live stream, Adam dove into step 14 of his Ghostbusters Ecto-1 kit build, which involved the left front suspension and brake drum, as well as a lot of very tiny screws and pieces. Thank goodness for tweezers!

I could never justify spending over a grand on a set like this, but watching Adam assemble it I can understand why it costs what it does.

TIP !! Adam here is a tip for you I have been running rc cars and trucks and flying helis for years and there are tons of tiny screws in them all. I ALWAYS work on a white towel it will most of the time catch any screw you drop and it's easy to see. I cover my work bench with a white beach towel when working a small stuff you will be shocked at how much it helps. Well hope this helps!

Adam, I have to thank you for teaching me something when it comes to building kit models and/or furniture, I finally took a pill planner to separate all the screws by type and it made a world of difference when I had to use each one.

It's been a few months since I did this step on my Ecto-1 and it still haunts me! I feel so much better seeing Adam is having the same problems I had. I recommend World of Wayne if you get confused with these kits, he seems to get his deliveries a month before anyone else and then does a video for every step.

Man, those 'driver blisters. Nearly gave up on the Deagostini Falcon because of one of those. (I built it one go, not monthly). Purchasing a small electric screwdriver turned the build from an ordeal to the most fun I'd had as an adult making models. Loving your build and weathering so far.

When working with small screws I ALWAYS place a white sheet on the floor and place a white towel on my lap. Just a tip.

I did not totally get the pure satisfaction of this type of making until I got into Agora’s 1:2 scale terminator model build. It is so satisfying and relaxing, I am hooked. I really want to have one of these part works build going at all times.

Adam. If a ferrous screw shears off in plastic you can DISSOLVE it out with warm solution of Alum (the cooking chemical not the metal!). Not too warm or the part may distort. Also works with broken drill bits.

I was listening to this video while building a model. Unfortunately, I dropped a piece on the floor as well. Coincidentally, I found my piece the same time that he did. Best "Found It!!" moment ever. LOL

I spotted you hook that loose piece of cow hide on the bench-- which could have sent everything flying... You need the cow hide, sure; but you also need a custom cut sheet of "Ryan Nagata" style self-healing table top!

Adam use a dab of oil on all screws ending in M its much easier with the slef tapping screws

Put oil on screws make them more prone to snapping as you lose the ability of how tight they are, there is a video about this on youtube somewhere

Tap the holes with micro tap set.

A cheap cotton sock taped to a vacuum hose. Is great for vacuuming up small parts you dropped. The sock holds the parts, turn off vacuum and dump out the parts.

I use the same light against the wall/floor technique to find mosquitoes. They will also cast a shadow in a dark room!

Hi Adam! I thought for a while about it, and went with the DeLorean. If I had my druthers, I'd have went with the '66 Batmobile, but Back to the Future is awesome too. Batmobile wasn't in stock.

Oh and a tiny dab of spit (insanitary) or washing-up liquid works a treat with self tappers. Cutting or tapping fluid contaminate the model with nasties like silicone.

I can't tell you what he's using specifically, but you can use a multi-day pill container and use a piece of masking tape as label material. Saved my ass more than once. Edit: One thing I've been meaning to do on my container is add small magnets to it. When you go to pop the lid on one section of it, sometimes the lid doesn't give without force, and when it does, the stuff flies out. Adding weight or even a magnet to the underside should keep your stuff from jumping out. They make fairly small neodymiums that'd work great for this and they sell them at Harbor Freight.

Adam! Dropped parts for The Carpet Monster? You need a roll up throw carpet for under your chair. Then, when you pray to the Carpet Monster you'll be more comfortable.

My current interest is in building competition rock crawlers. Once I complete the (many) projects in my pipeline, I’ll look into building this kit. I hope they will still be producing these then.

Sorry to say but when they get to about issue 30 they usually stop the subscriptions until about 6 mouths after the build has finished. Then they might restart it but they will send them to you in a sporadic way mabe every 1and a half months to 2 months.

@@yw9686 No if you try to subscribe after issue 30 you will not be able to get a subscription until after the build has finished its first run and 6 mouths extra has past. So just over three years. Then if you subscribe after that time you will most likely get the sporadic deliverys. It has been three years since the delorean was originally started and people are just starting the build from eaglemoss with delays to there deliverys.

Only (deagostini) also this company is known as (model space) dose this as far as i know but this is normally done at this time of year Xmas only but not for all of there previous builds so check their website or search for them through Google or other search engines.

I DO love helping people spend their money-- maybe you need a "full size" set of screwdrivers with more standard hand-sized handles? These cute little Euro sized grips are very nice to look at-- they're swell for watch work. But when you need to make your own threads in that pot metal-- well, a bit more America is needed. You can also add a jot of Vaseline to the untapped hole first. Helps.

I am pretty sad that this kit is not available in Canada. I went to the website and asked customer service and it can’t be done. I also tried the blitz way website about their new model and is sold out. Whenever a really neat ghostbusters model comes out it goes so fast and people who are only in it for profit not to cherish the model get them and they end up on eBay for 3 times the cost. Disappointed but still a fan

If you use a hard drive magnet you can magnetize your screwdriver and not have to hold the screw on the driver.

Unless the pot-metal/screw composition is non-magnetic.. Leave lids closed, wave magnet over top and see if they dance...

I think he's deliberately using non-magnetic screwdrivers. He had a problem with a magnetic screwdriver pulling the screw out of proper position in the model in an earlier episode of this build.

Do you have any suggestions for a cheaper alternative to Eaglemoss kits, just to get one's feet wet? Don't get me wrong - Eaglemoss certainly knows their stuff, but their stuff comes at a premium.

Sorry but eaglemoss/ deagostini/ hachette and maybe agora and now fanhome are all at about the same level. That is if you can get them in your country as not all countries are on there availability list. The above company's are the main ones to try to do a build that will last once finished then the problem is if you want to modify them through mod company's?

Those holes for *M screw aren’t tapped. I use set of taps to ease the process. 1.6 2.0 and 2.3 mm are most common

@@greg9403 The thing is that you never actually divide though, you never actually work out what a 64th of an inch is, you just use it as yet another unit of measurement. Us metric users actually do divide our measurements properly in a single unit of measurement. Besides imperial is just metric with extra steps these days since the imperial units are now all defined by metric values.

Really wish you guys would just post a single video of the live streams, instead of breaking it into 20 million 5 minute segments that you can then slap ads on the front and back of, and a 90 second tested ad on top of it. It really clutters up the subscription feed of your users with redundant content, and comes of as greedy. Not to mention the utter disappointment of seeing a "NEW, LIVE BUILD" and its content I've already seen, FROM TWO WEEKS AGO. At the very least, could you please dump all these at once, instead of dragging it out for a month? Its really annoying to think "HEY A NEW TESTED VIDEO" and NOPE ITS A RERUN, several times a week. You guys are too big to care what any of us think by now, but its a bad direction to be headed.

I disagree. It's a 30 minute build, the Tested ad is at the end and not interstitial, and I'd be curious if Adam even has all the issues of this Eaglemoss build. Maybe he does, but they're designed to come a few a month for like a year and a half if I'm not mistaken. I'm not a patron, so I'm fine seeing two-week old content and watching a few ads to support it.
