Hey Michael, I use the adaptive lighting integration in Home Assistant. I set up several instances for different rooms. I use Philips Hue bulbs along with Inovelli Zigbee switches and everything works perfectly. I setup the Inovelli switches to turn on the lights with a single tap of the up portion of the paddle switch. They are automatically in adaptive lighting mode and correspond accordingly. If I double tap up, it sets the lights to 100% brightness. This can be helpful at times. Using adaptive lighting has been a game changer for me. Most of the lights in my home including my bedroom, bathroom, living room, kitchen, foyer, etc. all use the Philips Hue bulbs along with the Adaptive lighting integration. It's really nice late night when you have to go to the restroom, to not be blinded. I also use an automation that once the TV is paused, the kitchen and bathroom lights both come on to their respective brightness/temp levels. Once I hit play again on the remote, they both turn off. Sounds like a great setup. I recently added new, under-cabinet lights in our kitchen and am testing them with an Inovelli Zigbee switch (Blue Series) - will likely cover in a future video. Thanks for watching and subscribing!

Planning on using the exact same setup - Philips Hue White Ambient (recessed and filament), Inovelli Blue 2-1and HA Adaptive lighting. Any setting or guidance? Have the hardware installed and just dealing with some Zigbee2mqtt issues. Thanks.

For my particular setup, I had to enable Single Pole Full Sine-Wave and Smart Bulb mode in the Expose settings for the Inovelli Blue in Zigbee2MQTT. I also added all the lights and the switch to a group in Zigbee2MQTT, and then used the Bind feature to bind the switch to the group I created.

Philips had a line of product with 'warm glow' effect, where it turn warmer as you dim it down to mimic actual incandescence bulb. I do this with presets on smart bulb, paired to physical button on a remote. I also paired it with motion sensor on bathrooms so at night it goes from (5% 3000K) ~ (40% 4000K) while during daytime it set to (10% 6500K) ~ (70% 6500K). That means during the day the more efficient white LED are used while during the night it uses the ww LED chip. Technically these bulbs has run for more than 2 years non-stop and the only thing I replaced was the sensor battery every 6-8 months. They're rechargeable nimh so only 1.2v

Hey Michael, i am using hue lights and not able see adaptive lighting icon in my homekit. Any idea why?

Adaptive Lighting in Apple HomeKit requires an Apple Home hub (e.g., Apple TV 4th gen or later, HomePod speakers) and the lights must support color temperature adjustment. Not all Hue lights support color temperature adjustment -- the ones that do are typically called White Ambiance or White & Color Ambiance.

⁠@@michaelsleenThanks. I have both white ambiance and white colour bulbs with tvos 17 and ios 17. It looks like when hue bridge v2 upgraded to latest version with matter compatibility, i am losing the ability to use adaptive lighting in homekit. I believe the adaptive lighting is not compatible with matter standards yet.

I am also using Philips Hue bulbs via the Hue Bridge throughout my house, and have not experienced this issue. However, I have heard that when using Matter certain features may not be available.
