Why does the ADATS have to have a higher than average cost? With CAS being the problem that it is the US and UK shouldn't have to suffer to spawn in their top spaa

they talk like its sso good in game yet it cant live up to 11.7 , has a higher br , and you cant even use it to complete your anti air vehicle tasks

does this video mean there's a fix for the gunner optic coming on the american one? or is that still getting forgotten about, making the missiles useless above 59 degrees of elevation. the optic has -5/+90 degrees IRL so it can control the gun and the missiles. currently in game, it is locked to the gun at -5/+59 degrees. the missiles did finally get their +85 degrees elevation sometime ago, but that can only be obtained while in third person, and since the gunner optic can't see that high, you can't lock onto any aircraft as the gunner optic includes the IR tracker. i have not touched the ADATS in months cause the LAV-AD is simply better.

It being the same BR as the Pantsir and costing more to spawn is kind of a joke

It's primary roll is Anti-Air. It should be designed as an SPAA and receive SPAA Spawn Points. It's secondary roll is anti-tank for self protection.

It could track 10 targets at once, not 8.

The ADATS could track 10 targets singlehandedly but could also display an additional 10 tracked by other vehicles it was connected to. Too costly and too unreliable after the Soviets fell.

This thing should not be 11.7. The SP cost needs to be reduced because you cannot use it when you need it to counter CAS.

Funnily enough, I saw the Canadian ADATS in real life at the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa. I didn’t know what it was though as I was barely getting started with War Thunder.

the BR Decompression update was dissapointing. It didnt fix anything and unfairly uptiered craft that should've stayed at their BR. most notably the Drakken preem vix is at 11.3 instead of 10.7 despite having only rear aspect missiles. effectively the queue has top tier jets still fighting the same stuff they already were.

"keep your radar turned off because they will fly low after seeing the rwr" No they won't, they will spawn in ~20km away, launch their 30km and 40km range missiles, turn at about 11.5km and go back to airfield. Making it virtually impossible to do anything about it.

I want to grind the US tech tree for three reasons: 1 I want to use the US version of the ADATS 2 I want to use the A6E 3 I want to use the A10 warthog

Some advice for those getting into the US top tier lineup, don’t waste your time getting this thing, the LAV-AD not only has a true SPAA SP cost, but honestly it’s better than the ADATS at both being anti tank and anti air. The ADATS radar is pretty uselesss since it’s tracking radar isn’t in sync with the search radar, so you can only lock targets you visually see through your gunsight. The search radar only serves to tell you rough direction and distance, not altitude. It’s also not stabilized, making it more difficult to fight aircraft from cover. Unlike the LAV, you don’t have great mobility to be in unexpected places to combat aircraft either. If you want a true AA, you should seek to use an actual aircraft. Being able to carry AIM-120s and undetectable AIM-9Ms makes it super easy to cancel all other aircraft by pressing two buttons.

Shitty spaa priced as a TD at the same tier as the pantsir which has more missiles, better range, better radar, better short range air defense, and the missile automatically leads the target. The only function the anti armor missile serves is maybe destroying a blind enemy on big open maps where you might have a chance to hit them.

Can you please remove the roundel restriction binding them to countries. It's really outdated in the games current state and we'd love to fight under our own countries roundel no matter the nation.

We need a new American anti air the adats is good but outdated compared to some from early 2000s as this is only from the 80s and is purely unmatched as an anti air compared to the pantsir
