This video is part two of front porch remodel to add $5,000 in value to your house. With a front door being the first thing that potential buyers see it is extremely important that it set the stage for the rest of the house. This remodel can easily be done for under $100 if you already have the tools but Nikki and I did it completely for free besides a bit of paint and spackle from Home Depot. This exterior remodel was not only an easy project but also makes the whole front entryway look nicer. I hope you enjoyed the video and if you want to keep up with Nikki and I a little closer go follow us on Instagram!

Many different designs for each type of project are also included. For example, there are hundreds of designs ru-vid.comUgkxb2mhCug-GkCWrq69Ce2I0nM0D4QpxAqu for outdoor buildings, from small sheds all the way up to a complete stable. Choose whatever type of shed or storage house is right for you. Pick from fancy ones or more utilitarian designs.

Watch out for kick back on the table saw. You're still young but it will happen eventually and cut your figure off. Ask me how I know. Just add a couple safety pieces to the saw and use a push stick or the gripper.

Nice use of scrap/salvage 1x and trim material. A Modern column facade is a great cheap way to increase both curb appeal and increase value.

@@notafool3178 Correct. He is young and took the plunge at being a Real Estate Investor and learning the skills on the job. You are never good at anything the first few times around. Experience matters. I am sure he and his wife are much better at this now. How many want to bees out there even have A Real Estate Portfolio? By the time he and his wife have their Bachelors or other degree they will be paying off loans with Renters Money and paying for their vehicles in CASH. I am happy for this couples efforts even if they make mistakes on the way. Non of us is perfect.

I'm wondering why you didn't use any glue when building your column wraps, which would increase the life of all the joints in terms of separating over time with expansion and contraction due to temperature.

When watching this video, my neighbor, Carl Von Pritzer, said, "this boy is a true Genius, for he does things with his scraps, in an afternoon, which the finest Bavarian craftsman could not manage to do in a month, with an unlimited stock of wood, and for very low cost - a true Uber Man". Now that's a German immigrant giving you the highest praise.

Nice creative trim work on columns. 2 comments: Safety...You need to use a push stick when ripping board under 6” wide - good rule to save your fingers. Yes you can fit a finger in there to push but what if you or board slips. Good bye finger. Exterior Wood Glue-...didn’t see any used. I would’ve glued all the joints and miters, then pin nailed. Nails hold wood in place long enough for glue to dry. Glue will hold. Small Brad nails won’t over time. I would want to see what these columns look like in a couple years. But hey those are nice for now!

Nice work on the Columns guys Yes Bondo works well and it sets up fast another good one is Dap Exterior Vinyl Spackle. But it will shrink on big holes and require multiple applications usually I do usually use the Wood Bondo mainly because its a off white or light gray that is easier to cover with paint Its the same as Auto Body Bondo But usually comes with a red hardener that tones the filler pinkish color the Wood Bondo uses a white hardener ! Both work and in a pinch ive used Auto Body That requires a shellac or primer if painting white or light colors is what you are using no biggie a can of Kilz Spray primer works great or Zimmers white pigmented Shellac will last a long time and has many uses. For DIYers like blocking water stains or ?? Both are good products to have around the shop or house

Not to be bossy, but something i learned the hard way. Try not to stand directly behind the wood when possible on the table saw. Or you might catch a piece in the stomach if the wood gets pinched. So.etimes you dont see it coming until you are well into the cut and it gets pinched between the fence and the blade. Also use some push sticks to keep your hands away from the blade when and where ever possible. And you should only raise your blade an 1/8th of an inch higher than the wood you need to cut. I lost 2/3rds of a finger in highschool woodshop. Looks great.

Not bad! Flowers, however, hang too high and black pots doesn't make it better, also one of the flower pot too close to the enter proximity - my advice hang them on a side at setting area on a level of railing should be, they would provide so need a bright spot and not abstract anything, plus would visually inclose the end part of the porch.

I'm thinking you used pine in here. It looks fabulous but pine isn't fit for outdoor use. The paint should protect it a while but if the bottom piece isnt green or mdf water will wick up into the wood. For the cost and a bit of time, looks great just in 5 years something might need to be done.

First, identify the tools and brands you want, and how much shop space you have available to put them in, and determine what a good price is for each tool, by brand name, in used condition, then check craig's list or start going to local pawn shops with your shopping list and see what's available. In hard times, skilled workers are sometimes forced to sell or pawn their tools, or just don't need them anymore and want some cash.

pushing lumber (especially dimensional lumber) through a table saw without even a riving knife will eventually lead to kick back which won't be pretty. The bevel cuts on the 1x6's....try cutting at 46 degrees instead of 45 and you will get a tighter seems on the long side and only a small gap to fill on the top edge.
